So so good! I'm already a huge sushi fan. So to stuff sushi in a burrito so I can eat more at a time, genius!!! Plus it's nextdoor to the sour room. Definitely stop in here if you're in the area for a quick bite. Seriously food came out in under 5 mins from ordering

I had THE BLAZER and it was delicious. This was my first time trying. The people we're friendly and speedy. Didn't have to wait long. Would definitely try again.

The food is quite good but confusing to the palate. Take a sushi roll and cross it with a burrito. Grilled steak and cream cheese? Sounds odd but tastes pretty good. If you can, give this place a try

The Wasabi Juan experience should not be missed! Eating the Blazer Sushi Burrito blew me away. Their ingredients are incredible- including the delicious spicy mango mayo served with my meal. Great atmosphere in the seating area, nice bathrooms, and very neat hallway connecting the restaurant and the Sour Room bar next door, covered in posters for local events. A very Birmingham locale! Highly recommended to anyone in the Avondale area!

Good, fresh, didn’t really grab me though. Ordered 2 tacos: ceviche and .... I already forgot yikes, neither were flavorful, also ordered Juan’s nachos and the poke & sticky. Poke was light, not as flavorful as I make mine but it was acceptable.... what am I suppose to eat it with though? Didn’t come with plasticware or chips. Nachos... fresh but flavorless.... no salsa or anything. Basically my summary would be if you want light and flavorless but fresh they are awesome. If you want zesty don’t order what I did.

Fusion between Tex-Mex and Japanese. Sushi burrito served with tortilla chips and salsa. The food is innovative but kinda bland. It's hard to pinpoint what's lacking but you really cannot taste too much difference between the ingredients. I had the LHM (Lord Have Mercy) roll(3 stars), my husband had the Rick Roll (2stars), and my daughter had the Rainbow Roll(5 stars). We each ranked our own roll. For starter we had the Juan's Nacho (4 stars). The ceviche was fresh tasting but need a tad more lime than the really thin wedge of line provided and maybe more cilantro. Typical of trendy new restaurant located in City center, the price reflects that - higher. The atmosphere is fun and service is friendly. It's worth a try. The four stars is for the overall experience.

I really liked the food here because it is a combination of sushi/Mexican in an assortment of interesting and flavorful meals. Their Google map description gives this "Fusion eatery paring sushi rolls with Mexican street food in a funky, casual space with a patio." You will also find their cooked beef selections -Cowboy and the Toro rolls while they use chicken in their Blaze. Some of their roll selections include crab meat or if you like, cooked shrimp. You may also want to try their steak, guacamole, cream cheese tacos and sushi burritos. And making good use of sushi ingredients they roll them into burrito-like soy wraps and nori. You will also find Mexican Cokes along with coconut rice rolls among their offerings.

I love this place! The atmosphere is really cool and the fusion food is amazing! Only complaint is that they’re on the pricey side. It’s sushi though, so I kinda expect it.

I've been going to Wasabi Juan's for several years now and have always had a pleasant experience each visit! I have never tried anything I didn't like, but my favorite has to be the 420 nachos. I love that they have bottled mexican sodas and a menu that you can't find anywhere else in Birmingham.

Chicken taco was the best out of the three I tried. They forgot one of my tacos which was okay, except when they brought it out, the shell was stale. Will go back to give it a second chance. Recommend take out though... The music in there is awful, something I would imagine my kid sister blasting too.

Excellent fusion of burritos and sushi. I love the cowboy roll with steak and cream cheese. The LHM (Lord Have Mercy) roll is great too. The 420 nachos are a great side if you’re really hungry.

Pretty good food. They give you large portions. I couldn't finish my burrito! The space is small so lunch was crowded and people behind us left for that reason. Overall cool concept and location. Not as Much variety as I'd like but there's room to grow for sure.
