Villa Mexico Cafe had its origins in Woburn, MA. Julie King, owner, manager, cook, cleaner and everything else, began the business with one purpose only: bring authentic Mexican food to the people of New England. Fast forward to 2006 with two businesses under the belt, an array of experiences, and stories to last a lifetime, the latest Villa Mexico Cafe opened in Boston. Serving authentic Mexican dishes like burritos, quesadillas, tacos, tostadas, fresh fruit waters and more, the business was inside the gas station store right in front of MGH. Its quirky location and energetic staff made it a special staple of the Beacon Hill neighborhood. In January 2013 the brick-and-mortar location was closed due to a building demolishing and rebuilding plan, but Villa Mexico Cafe continued its catering and salsa sales. The new storefront reopened on January 2016. As Momma King says, "Hi my friends! Welcome to our "changarro!"

Sooooo good. Totally worth the wait. I was #21 in line. After he arrived, it still took about 35-40 minutes to be served. But I'd do it all over again. Looks super sketchy when you drive up, but you realize you're not alone when you see the line of people already there. Tip: the corn on the cob is better than the bowl!! Much sweeter. Although it's messier, the corn on the cob and all its fixins is so good. And cheap too!!!! Heavy on the stomach, but worth every bit.

First time here. Got the spicy chicken burrito bowl. There was plenty of chicken, and it was spicy. But there was barely any lettuce or tomato and there was NO rice in it at all! It was basically a bowl of shredded chicken. Also, for $10, the portion size of the bowl is definitely on the smaller size.

I come here for lunch on a regular basis (i.e. about 2 times a week) and am never disappointed. To make my overall experience even more genuinely positive, every single professional whom is and has been working amongst the Villa Mexico Cafe team is always extremely kind, warm, courteous and friendly. Additionally, their food offerings are truly top-notch!Thank you all for your exemplary service to the people of Boston's Financial District and beyond - and best wishes to a very bright future ahead!!! :)
