Great affordable Mexican food

Quiet little place with good food. A great little small town secret.

Very good experience at Victor's. I was told about Victor's some time ago but living in Des Moines, I'm rarely in the area. But, I was going to Snus Hill Winery and stopped on the way. All in all, Victor's is what I'd call Mexican comfort food. All your favorites are here and you just may find something new to you on the menu that might become a favorite. The staff, mainly the family who owns it, are very friendly and provide great service.I had the Burrito Carne Asada. Nothing fancy, but was delicious. My Margarita was good as well.The place looks like at one time was a local Tavern. Not too much for decor. Bottom line...Victor's is a simple place that simply has good food, service and prices. A perfect spot to stop when in the area for nearby events. So if you're going to the local winery, ISU for a game or concert, Victor's is a great place to stop on the way, and out of the way of crowds in Ames all trying to get into the same restaurants.

Moved to the area a couple months ago. Atmosphere is bland, but the food definitely isn’t! Everything my friends and I have tried has been amazing and fresh. Prices are very reasonable, the portion sizes are large, and every staff member is friendly and attentive. I’d definitely recommend this place to anyone.

Great food, very authentic, great prices

Literally the best mexican in town..... Decent portions good people cheap margritas. Get the asada or the chili verde the fajitas are popular as is chips and queso... Its that white queso.... Only wish they had pastor and sopes. But love them none the less. I go weekly and I enjoy it always. Fast and courteous a plus people .

This places was excellent. I got the carnitas dinner plate, and I must say It was delicious. The service was good, and the food was good, and the price is right. I think the only thing that could make it better is if the tortillas were homemade.

A bit shy on atmosphere but the food here is consistently wonderful and very reasonably priced. The couple that runs this place are the nicest folks you could hope to meet. The best Mexican food in Ames is in Huxley, trust me. This place is a hidden gem.
