Veritas Bistro & Lounge

We love this place! Great food, customer service is on point, nice quiet ambiance for dinner, and good drinks! This is our go to for when we want a nice, romantic date night! There is also an outside patio if you prefer that.

Locally owned by an Aggie, this restaurant and wine bar is definitely a place to visit for a chef prepared meal. We had the tuna appetizer followed by two main course recommendations from our server. We went with the sea bass and wagu beef. We also ordered the truffle Mac n Cheese. The meal was to die for, I highly recommend Veritas! We arrived at 5:45 on a Saturday so the place was just starting to take reservations, hence the empty restaurant pictures.

Was a great experience. We ordered a meal that they surprised you with 6 different plates. Later in the meal the chef/owner came out and talked to us. It was nice to actually get to thank someone who put in the work and effort into our meal. I believe food tastes better when you put your heart into it and I will say the chef did just that. Once again thank you it was great.

Absolutely amazing place. Live music, super friendly but not overly pushy wait staff, excellent wine and a great ambience. From the 3 times I've been to College Station, definitely my favorite meal so far.

This restaurant generally really serves delicious food. The lunch crab cakes, the fig salad, and miso sea bass are my favorites. Just be careful, they've left off figs off my salad more than once. They've changed the fig salad to a peach salad, so hopefully that won't happen anymore. Ordered the duck today and enjoyed it, except the pea/corn side was extremely salty. I guess they expect everyone to enjoy the food, because no one asked how the meal was while I was there. I let my waiter know how salty it was on my way out, so hopefully it will get fixed in the future.

Food lacked all seasoning. The beef was very tough and tasteless. When Texas Roadhouse is better for half the price there is a problem. If you want actually good haute cuisine; go to Christopher's.

Service was average. For the amount you are paying, you’d think it’d be better. Waited forever to get a glass of wine only to find out they didn’t even have it in stock. Ordered the sea bass which is chef tai’s signature entree. Asked for it without mushrooms due to an allergy. They brought it out with mushrooms and it was quite possibly the smallest cut of fish I’ve seen in my life. All that for $34 bucks? I could go to fish daddy’s and get the same quality for a better price. Highly disappointed.

The salad was amazing! Very nice atmosphere! Great drinks! Great service! Will definitely come again! Great Date Night spot!

Love, love love this place! This is my "must visit" spot whenever I come to College Station. I am especially a fan of their tasting menu (which they can make gluten-free and dairy-free if you give them advance notice). The tasting menu is a wonderful way to spot my new favorite dishes (especially fish dishes)! The quality of the fish dishes here is especially outstanding. A dinner out here costs a bit more, and dress is more formal, but the atmosphere is wonderful (live music), and the company, wines and food are divine!Just a few tips. First, reservations are highly encouraged, and I would say necessary for groups larger than four. One of the reasons I love this place so much is that they can accommodate my gluten-free, dairy-free needs. If you want to do the tasting menu, and you have special dietary needs, you need to give them lead time - I believe they said they needed 24 hours, so let them know when you make the reservation.
