Vatan is an authentic Indian restaurant. The ambience of the restaurant is awesome. However, the taste of the food is okay. I enjoyed the appetizers , but not the main course.

It’s an amazing set up. Vatan has a set up as that of a village and even the servers are dressed the same way. It’s a really nice themed restaurant and Meena who was taking care of us was a very sweet lady and very hospitable. A perfect meal for Navratri days when we were looking for something vegetarian to have. We really liked the ambiance and the food was delicious too. The food was different from what we usually have but it was definitely went above our expectations. All you can eat Gujarati foodThis is one of the places which we would definitely take our friends and relatives who come to visit us in NYC.

Great food and friendly server. The food is mostly homemade (with the exception of the most likely frozen mini samosas) and traditional Gujarati style, and when they say "all you can eat", they really mean it with the huge portion sizes. About 26% gratuity rate included in the bill (four people ordering the prix fixe came out to $170+). This place is definitely not worth spending over $100 on. You could save your time and money by going to another cheaper Lexington Ave Indian restaurant, but you would be missing out on the unique ambiance Vatan has to offer.

When you get poor service along with below avg tasting food, you never want to go back. Other than the ambience everything else is poor. They definitely need to up the game, begin with hiring better chefs!

All you can eat delicious Gujarati Thali. Though priced on the higher side, food, service and ambiance make up for it. I wish they had 'a la carte' option to avoid food wastage.

Probably the best service I've ever had at a restaurant in NY! A little pricey. But well worth it!

Great food and hospitality. Must visit for someone who likes Indian food which is tasty but not spicy. Just didn't like the concept of mass food which means lot of wastage.

Vatan checks off a lot of items on every foodie's list - delicious food, nice service and a fantastic ambience! Their fix price menu has a plethora of options making for a very filling meal. The village setup is very authentic, even the staff are dressed in traditional Indian clothes. A very unique Indian dining option in NYC
