Van's Pig Stand

When it is good, it is fantastic. They've a point system. Buy lots of food and you get a free meal after a time. Problem is, the free meal is usually not a full meal. It's like they're angry because you used the point system, so you get the worst meal of the week. It is very expensive and I have had to ask if it was fresh. But, like it says at the top, when done well, it is fantastic. Got a meal for someone dying of cancer with my free points last night; bad idea on my part. The carton was nearly empty; I was embarrassed to give it to the lady. If your point system makes you angry, please get rid of it as a perk for the exorbitant price we pay for the convenience of not cooking after working for hours. I work at the hospital across the way from Van's in Norman, guess what the conversation today was during lunch? Had the entire cafeteria discussing, Vans.

Van's Pig Stand serves outstanding BBQ. Just moved up here from Texas and Hands down better than Texas BBQ.!!!!

Some of the finest product for my church group tomorrow been a loyal customer for 15 years! Doesn't get any better then this ! All the way in Norton Shores Michigan .

Those who know me know that I love great BBQ. Today I stopped in at the iconic Van’s Pig Stand in Norman OK. This family owned restaurant has served up great BBQ since the 1930s. I stop in about twice a month. My favorites are the sliced brisket and burnt ends. The brisket has a nice smoke ring with the right combination of smoke and rub flavors. It’s moist and tender and yummy on the sandwich. I think the only thing better are the melt in your mouth burnt ends. They have the perfect amount of sweet and heat. I think my one complaint would be that on some days when they normally sell burnt ends they don’t have them to sell. The building is currently going thru some expansion construction and entry is on the east side despite most parking on the west side. $$

Aaron and Tori do an amazing job here. I e been eating here for years and they are always so friendly and accommodating. The food is always fresh and made to order. They truly make me feel like family every time I walk in the door. Keep up the good work guys you are rock stars

I ordered a large order a couple of days in advance. Worked it out for someone else to pick it up. Got to the party was unloading the food. They had forgotten two of my items. I called them up. They delivered the items forgotten. Thank you so much. You made the party awesome and had just the right amount of food. Will totally be doing that again. We had. 2 racks of ribs. 1lb sliced brisket 1lb chopped brisket. 1lb turkey 1lb pulled pork. 2 was each of baked beans. Fried okra. And potato salad. This fed about 15 people with just a little left over. Was amazing.!!!!! Really can’t be more pleased.

Very basic bbq. Not bad, but nothing special... The "smoky" sauce is delicious with a good, tangy vinegar flavor.

I love this little place, the staff is very friendly and the service is great. I've been here many times for lunch and every trip has been great. A lunch combo comes with a sandwich, curly fries and a drink and all for around $8 or less. The meats are always moist and packed with flavor and the fries are always hot and tasty. Highly recommend!!! Tried the ribs and the beans for the first time today; they were both very good.

I've been coming to Van's since I was in Junior High. It is by far the best BBQ in Norman. Amazing food from burgers to pulled pork sandwiches to ribs. Best curly fries and okra I've ever had. Friendly and polite staff. Awesome!

The chopped brisket sandwich is good for sure , but I really do love the brisket tacos they have now! . Don't get rid of these please!

Ribs- check, curly fries- check, burnt ends- nope! Hard, chewy, not good as I've had. Overcharged me for a cpl items. I reserve judgment since I've had better there.

Jr. Rib meal: 2 ribs, 2 sides, & toast for about $12. The ribs were a little fatty, but they were moist, juicy, and tasty. The green beans were the best that I have had. The fried okra was good.

I hadn't been to this location in nearly 10 years. Staff was AMAZING. We did the drive thru and the young lady who brought our food to the window was a delight! Food was great. Not the BEST ribs i have ever had but definitely in the top 10. Will definitely be returning.

Had an awesome meal. Excellent customer service. Great atmosphere.
