Valters at the Maennerchor

About

Valter's at the Maennerchor is a casual, German inspired restaurant with a modern menu, draft biers and full bar. Valter's is located in the Maennerchor's cozy German Heritage Haus at the crossroads of historic German Village, Merion Village, and the Brewery District. Valter's menu consists of house made, traditional German and European cuisine with a modern twist, along with German and American inspired sandwiches. The brunch menu, served on the weekends, consists of everything from prime rib and eggs to scratch-made Belgian waffles. Several of the dishes, including, the breakfast hangover and corned beef hash are served in the cast iron skillets they are prepared in. The Columbus Maennerchor is the oldest active German singing society in the United States. Tuesday's choir practice in the dining room at Valter's is open for all to enjoy. Reservations are recommended. Large parties are welcome, and private dining and meeting rooms are also available for your special event needs.

Yeah this place was good. Would love to go back and try more on their menu but it can be a bit pricey depending on what you get. It's within walking distance of Schiller park too if you're looking for a nice stroll before or after your meal. Heads up they also have televisions if you're looking to watch sports while you eat.

Loved it. Good food, great service, great atmosphere (if you like German stuff). We lucked out and some people were there singing (great voices). Of course it was a German drinking song. They even have a small parking lot, so there's more than just street parking. I would recommend it.

Questions & Answers

Yes and it is delicious!

Depends on the beer, but a range between $5-$10

I haven't seen any there before. But someplace left you have a tab with money on it if you say it's for a certain event like a birthday or anniversary

They have 2 spots on the small lot on the east side of the building. I was also told that you're allowed to park at the parking lot just north of the Valters building/across High Street from Gresso's. Look for 966 S High St Parking on Google Maps. It has plenty of handicap lots and is less than a minute's walk away - it's brightly lit when it's dark too!

Brunch never disappoints. It's some of the best. Hangover skillet is my go to.
