This neighborhood Italian deli continues to delight, from the pizzas made on the spot to the wide selection of Italian meats and cheeses. You can recreate your Sopranos fantasy meals here. Don't ignore the selection of fresh and frozen pastas that are homemade including pumpkin angliotti. Counter staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Try the white pizza.

Love this place. I like to pick lasagna or other Italian flavors to heat and serve at home.

Local treasure with Italian and Argentinian specialties. Our favorites are the frozen lasagna and the onion pizza.

I do enjoy their pizza, but who's the genius who decided a pizza place in Washington DC should close EARLIER on SATURDAYS than they do during the week. Are you serious right now?

Nice little old-style Italian delicatessen. Has a good mom-and-pop vibe. Their meatball subs and pizza-by-the-slice are winners.

The pizza and the tiramisu are the best. Great frozen stuffed shells too. Nice to have a store like this around!

So much Italian goodness in one tiny location! Though there's no room to sit and enjoy all the deliciousness, whomever's doing the buying and food preparation knows exactly what to hone in on to make Washington, D.C. feel like you've stepped into Naples, Italy. All the right foods and food prep is available, as well as mouth-watering pizza, subs, and deli items. Those lucky kids at American U can't possibly know how good they've got it!

This is normally 4/5 stars. This the firstbl time in 30 years that there was something wrong with the pepperoni, sausage and mushroom pizza. There was something off and it was in the oil or grease from the sausage. It clearly was not good. My last purchase of meat ravioli was tasteless like mush. And this is the 3rd time the skinny gal in DC answers the phone and is aggressive and hung up bc my service was dropping the calls. Lucky the pizza has been so good I pushed ahead to have it made. There was something done to my pizza that now is leaving an after taste of anchovy oil. Not good. For 30 years this place has been excellent. All great products. Service is beginning to wane. Try the Bethesda store. The family seems to work there more often.

Nice place for Italian staples and a deli. Great for popping in for some fresh pasta. Staff are super nice. The only ding is that the selection is not that huge. The best Italian market in DC will always be A Literi!

Vance has the best pizza in the city. It is nothing fancy but it is addicting. It is hard to explain the pizza, it is nothing like I have ever eaten before. The best way to describe it is more sauce and just a little cheese. They also have a delicious white pizza as well. You should also try all there different pastas they sell here. They are all frozen but you can easily cook them at home.

The pizza is delicious. I discovered it in 1996 and have been thoroughly enjoying it ever since. Why 3 stars then? The service is just so completely awful and has been on a steady decline for years. Why can’t the folks dealing with the public just be civil?? I am not even asking for a smile or a friendly greeting, just civility.

This neighborhood delicatessen is the best shot for take out pizza for miles and miles. You have to know to ask for extra cheese, though, because they otherwise put the cheese in the crust. The crust is very chewy and I especially like anchovies and roasted red peppers. Their other market wares are quite high quality as well - I love the fresh pasta and raviolis. They even have fun drinks like Bellini and Italian sodas.
