Union Station

Very roomy for a station with many things to do (mostly eating and shopping) while you're waiting for your train. For a European, the architecture is quite American Imperial, with a lot of space in the main hall but surprisingly little actually by the boarding gates. If you have a ticket with baggage checking, do use it to get out and see a little of the capital and Capitol.

It's trying to be better but...The toilets are the mess, especially near Amtrak's waiting area.Most dinning closed past 9 or even 8 PM while trains departure is at lest till 9.40 PMNo any signs for ride-sharing services.Any seating is limited outside Amtrak area.

Love this building - if you have time, walk outside and take a look around at the gargoyles, etc that line the top. Inside, though, is why you're there. This place is well-maintained, lots of food and service options, everything you want in a transit hub. It does get crowded, so if you're taking a popular train -- for example, an afternoon train to NYC or Philly -- get there way early to secure a place in line. Trains and signs are well-marked. If you're not sure, ask someone; staff are friendly and patient.

I have taken the train from Washington DC to New York city before, Amtrak run a fantastic service which is efficient, clean and comfortable. I traveled first class and then business on the train and the service was excellent, great food, rooms and a nice view as you travel through the country side.

Stopped by for a few minutes while waiting for the next train and I must say that it was BEAUTIFUL! I truly enjoyed walking through and seeing the ceiling and statue's and diversity of people all around. They have a big food court with different stuff you can select from and they have many stores and even shoe shining is available! If you go outside there is a beautiful scenery waiting for lots of pics 😉 and I've heard that there are many places to visit near by and many of them are free , such as museums and so on. This is a great place to visit if your ever in DC !

Beautifully restored train station in the center of Washington, DC, provides service by Amtrak and MARC trains with connections to the Washington Metro, Metro buses, and inter-city bus lines. The two-story station features numerous eateries and boutiques, while the basement is a massive (and affordable) food court. Step outside for taxis and tour buses, and you'll discover you are only footsteps away from the US Capitol and other government buildings, as well as the National Mall and the many museums that make up the Smithsonian Institutions.

The Columbus Square in front of the Union Station - Washington DC, altogether is a spectacular view. The Main Hall inside Union Station is huge with very nice dome ceiling. Out in the spare, the view is great on a sunny day and at sunset. The Capitol up hill from the square adds a specific aspect to the total view. In Spring time and cherry blossom season, there are quite a few 20 feet high willow cherry trees with white and pink flowers, a view that one cannot miss if visiting DC!

Loved my visit at the station. There's a lot to see. The Christmas tree was beautiful!! The train ride was enjoyable.

Beautiful architecture. Wide selection of shops. Would be better with a major bookstore. Also, it's time for a homeless service organization to set up shop here and offer some services. There are many people who are housing-unstable and hungry here.
