Uncle Clay's House of Pure Aloha

Hands down the best shave ice I have had. Locally sourced, flavorful, and not too sweet, it comes at a worthwhile price premium. Unfortunately, I have not yet run into Uncle Clay himself.

An absolute must visit, best shave ice on the island. Fluffy soft shave ice with home made natural flavors, and served by genuinely caring staff. We make an effort to stop here at least once on every visit.

Best shave ice on Oahu. Don't go to the tourist trap. Natural flavors, real fruit, and super fine shaved ice.

Uncle clays is in my humble opinion the best shave ice on the island. Situated in Aina Haina shopping centre, if you come on the weekend or a really hot sunny day expect a wait and a queue, its super popular and well deserved! The combinations of shave ice are fabulous and the ice cream and freshly prepared natural flavours leave all the other shave ice behind. This is a 5 star taste experience starting at around $5 and would rival any Michelin starred restaurant dessert I've had before. The staff here are truly lovely and this humble little store deserves all the success and accolades it gets. I never visit Oahu without stopping by once or twice for my hit of pure aloha.

This was my FAVORITE Shave Ice place on Oahu. We went here several times a year, and Uncle Clay saw us through our wedding to building our family. Service is always kind and helpful. I miss my Lihing Lovers!

We love HOPA. We heard such great things about HOPA, so we made the time in our visit from Canada, and were so glad that we did. AMAZING is all that I can say. We are excited to bring our kids back and introduce them to this hidden GEM.You definitely taste a more organic pure flavor due to the real ingredients used and the traditional methods of keeping true to the way shave ice was meant to be. Good job Uncle Clay we will definitely come back. It was a nice that Clay spent the time getting to know us, he truly is a wonderful man. I love supporting family business like HOPA who still know how to put service first, and pour there souls into their work.

That vanilla ice cream though --- to die for!

I got the pleasure of spending time chatting with Uncle Clay while my buddy, Scott, and I dined on the most delicious shaved ice. His 2 highlights on the menu (rainbow and paradise) were delicious memories I will take back with me to the mainland forever. The shaved ice was incredible, but more special was the time that Uncle spent with us while we ate. He earnestly cared to get to know us and learn our stories,as he shared his own. This man has the warmest of hearts and the coldest of shaved ice. God bless Uncle Clay, the shaved ice shaman!

We had the number one strawberry and number 6 horchata special and everything was delicious like usual! Skyler and the Gang always bringing that great customer service despite everything going on with the virus we felt super welcome. Maaaahalo

Uncle Clay's has been at the Aina Haina Shopping Center for decades and generations of kids have grown up getting after school snacks here. Newly renovated and now with the best shave ice on the East side of the island. Specialty shave ices are really good and worth paying a little extra!

The best shave ice I’ve had on this island so far - better than Matsumoto’s by far! Do yourself a favor and get the ice cream, condensed milk and the homemade mochii. It was so good. I don’t know if their syrup are actual fruit but they are at least the color of the fruit instead is some overly sweet artificially flavored syrup.

The shave ice is pretty good! I love that they make all their own flavors and I loved seeing their beautiful store and all the great things hanging on the wall!

My cousin in Maui suggested that I go to his uncle's shave ice shop and since he's a Hawaiian local, I just do whatever he recommends around here. lol -- Anyway, I am so happy I made the trip out here from Waikiki -- the shave ice here is so freaking delicious and although I'm not a health nut, I am a science geek and I avoid high-fructose corn syrup because of biochemistry reasons and sugar metabolism. I'm really happy that I can go to a place that values good quality ingredients without compromising taste and experience. We originally bought 2 bowls, but we added a 3rd bowl after we discovered how yummy this place was!
