Ugly Tuna Sushi

Friday afternoon was their first official night of being open (soft opening) and we were blown away. The restaurant has a new and sleek appearance to it and it was really clean. We decided to sit at the bar as we really enjoy conversating with the sushi chefs. We ordered four specialty rolls, miso soup, and two bottles of sake. The staff quickly got to work and a few minutes later we had our first roll. Having lived in Hawaii for many years, I must say that this sushi is just as fresh, if not more fresh!!! The salmon was by far the freshest salmon that I've ever tasted. Each roll was unique and provided a carefully matched symphony of flavors. The staff was friendly and impressed us both for being their first day open. Service was friendly and very quick. Without a doubt, we will be back sooner than later. This sushi spot is great for families or a quiet date night with that special someone. Thank you for the awesome service, we look forward to our next visit.

Got happy hour (430 pm to close) rolls, the las Las Vegas and 702 LV roll, sashimi (mouthwatering!), some sake, beer, and a mojito, and a bento box for me and my bf. Everything was great and the staff is so nice! Highly recommend this place!

Amazing food. This is by far the best sushi we've had since we moved to AZ. I'm an avid sushi lover and this by far exceeded my expectations. My husband doesn't like miso soup but he actually likes it here and so does our 4 year old daughter, she had 3 bowls. The kids meal looks delightful in the bento box with the lid. We will definitely be returning often.

Sashimi literally melts in your mouth like butter. Fresh fish, ample portions, attentive staff - what more could you ask? Daniel knows what he is doing, and his staff are learning from the master. Hamachi Kama stellar also.

After spending three years living in Japan, you really wish you could find authentic yakisoba like that here in the states. Thankfully, Ugly Tuna Sushi really hit the mark!! The food was amazing, the restaurant was clean, the service was really good and the sushi chefs were very generous in sending courtesy samples around. A great experience and we will definitely be back!

This is my favorite sushi place. It is sooo good! The customer service is also great! A mistake was made once and they immediately fixed it and apologized.

Good food. I usually don’t care about quality of service, but it was not packed, and the servers acted very overwhelmed and it took me forever to get the check when I had somewhere to be.

Great find in Sun City/Peoria area. Very fresh fish and great presentation. The wait staff was good as well. It may be expensive but well worth it.

Sushi was great tonight! The manager Daniel helped us pick out a couple rolls and Cassidy the server was very nice and attentive. Will come back again.

Food was great, service was great! First time to Ugly Tuna and we loved it. We ordered a Rainbow roll and a Sal-Una roll, and both were very fresh and delicious! We also received a sampling of albacore tuna tartare and that too was so good! Can't wait to try happy hour. We'll definitely be back!

Great food and friendly staff. You can tell the chef takes a lot of pride in his work and pays close attention to detail. Even COVID takeout is beautiful.

My third time here already, loved everything about this restaurant!! Very clean, high-end decors inside, fast and nice customers service, fantastic food qualities!!Never found this quality of the food in this area. So happy to have them in our neighborhood!
