Pretty good! Curry was.... ok (not the best) udon was great and the fried chicken was outstanding! Definitely not a fish fan either and know that the broth is tainted with some sort of fish... Luckily it isn't overwhelming but wish there was an alternative selection. Really fun place to grab some decently priced drinks after work with co-workers.

Beware of this restaurant. The workers are a disgrace. (Two female ladies). Seriously the most unprofessional, rude workers I have ever came across. In all honestly, I love this restaurant. I come here all the time to get take out because I live in New Jersey and I don’t get to come here all the time. This time, the workers refuse to separate my order, saying the container cost money? Absolutely freaking ridiculously. The owner really needs to reevaluate his workers because they are absolutely trash and making this wonderful restaurant look terrible.

I had the pork katsu curry for lunch and it was great! Tasty curry, crispy pork, and some good rice. While the price was up there, I think $13.50 for this dish, it was a big dish and tasted great. I recommend this place!

Great food and drinks. I expected the loud izakayi experience and party atmosphere. It wasn't there. The curry flavour was on point and the frosted Saki was great.

Great udon and ramen shop near the heart of midtown. Service is fast. Prices are fair. You may have to wait for a seat if you go towards the start of the lunch shift.

Good service. Ordered Udon with prawn and vegetable Tempura, agé-takoyaki, and salmon sashimi. Generous and crunchy tempura. The noodles were on the mushy side of average, and the salmon sashimi tasted good, but texture was of frozen sashimi. Decent value.

Two words: Awesome UdonThe price is typical of the area but the taste is fantastic. My sister and I are udon and ramen lovers and we can get rather picky, but we both agree that we love the udon at this place. That said, this is also an izakaya, meant for drinking and snacking all night long. There is a good selection of appetizers (with descriptions, thank goodness) to choose from (extra appetizer list towards the end of the menu book if you're looking for more). I've had the salmon skin, the deep fried baby octopus, and the assorted sashimi so far besides the udons and they all taste good.Udon West usually opens real late and alcohol prices are reasonable for mid- to downtown Manhattan. Some nights are busier than others but I haven't had to wait more than 15 minutes thus far.PS: Try their happy hours.

Came here for the first time and had higher hopes for this place. The udon was not chewy enough- tasted a bit overcooked. Though their Niku (marinated beef) and broth was pretty good. Also, their soba seems overcooked as well. You can tell they don't use good quality/generic packaged noodles after you eat around in NYC at $20/bowl udon and soba places. I like how the service is friendly and fast. Also their food is pretty reasonable in price. May come back when I am around the area for some cheap fast japanese noodles that wont hurt the wallet.

Solid Japanese food. Had the grilled mackerel and it was spot on. Took a little bit of time but was worth it. Service was attentive but depends on each individual server. Happy overall but needed a little more for a full 5 stars.

Very cute and cozy, amazing noodles and great topping options. I had the cold udon and it was so refreshing and simply delicious. The noodles are light and fluffy, not overly dense as some other udon places are. The hot udon is great for a cold day in NYC, it'll warm you up and keep you full. Would definitely recommend.

Solid noodle bar/Japanese restaurant. The udon noodle soups were flavorful and the portions, generous. The most delicious item, however, was the tuna tacos (we ate two before we could snap the below pic)

This is the first and only Udon joint I've been to and I guess they are the best I've been to. Think about that for a second. They are actually very good. Specializing in Udon, the noodles are very soft and the broth is fish based, on the watery side. I usually get the Udon with Fried chicken on the side because the chicken is so tasty and lightly crispy. I like to dunk it in the soup myself so it doesn't get all soggy. They also have rice dishes, but I recommend sticking with the Udon.
