Chicken, pepper steak, and, steak and cheese sandwich, are just a few of the items I have tried from this restaurant. The line maybe long but the food is always good.

This is 2018, in NYC. This place has a $6 dollar lunch special for fresh rotisserie chicken (during lunch hours so popular you always get a fresh cut), you get one side or two depending on who is serving with that. Good deal in my book. Primetime here is lunch so be prepared to take a number and wait.

The food is good. It does stay crowded.

It's good but their baked/rotisserie chicken fell off BIG time!!! Their chicken is cold and they got too comfortable because now they make a lot of money. Pre pandemic their chicken was well made and delicious. I'm disappointed in their new way of lazy preserving their cooked chicken. Yuck 🤮

I was training on the job in Harlem, and my coworkers are always raving about Tropical, and how it's one of the best Spanish Restaurants in Harlem. They weren't kidding! I came here and ordered their infamous roasted chicken that everyone was talking about over Spanish rice, and boy was it delicious! The chicken was extremely moist, succulent, flavorful, and you can definitely taste the Spanish ingredients to get it the way it is. Rumor has it that the line waiting to order stretches to the corner of the block, but good thing that day when I went was not that long. Hands down will recommend this place and will definitely travel to Harlem just for their Spanish roasted chicken. It's worth every bang for the buck!!!! =)

The carrot cake is out of this world. The food in generally is fantastic & the prices are very good. problem found cheesecake taste sour, visitors do not keep the restroom clean & a lot of people are just hanging out not investing/ purchasing, which is bad for business

Stand in line if it is busy (it is very popular, so it's often busy) but for down the middle comfort food like chicken rice and beans, this place is awesome. Very utilitarian set-up. Take it to go, or sit at one of the little barebones tables. It will satisfy your hunger in a tasty way!

Food is delicious, staff is a little rushed, and the atmosphere is typical of Harlem lunch places.

I came here before, the food looks exactly like the menu and tastes very tender and juicy.

I had to work around the corner for a few weeks and this turned out to be my most visited spot. Their red beans and rice are great with any selection of meat. Good curried goat, good carne, good chicken. Highly recommended, tho seating is limited.

Ordered food for date night, bad idea the food was hour & 1/2 late😳, it was cold it was burnt chicken and then I found a long piece of hair , I have locks so I know it wasn't mines 😤😤, walk back to them to get my refund and gave them there nasty food back, it was horrible stay away if u looking for great service!!!

Authentic Dominican food. Ask for garlic sauce for the rotisserie chicken which is cooked to perfection. Great cheap eats in Harlem.

I'm giving 3 stars because the food is usually pretty good, however this time, the rice and peas and the rotisserie chicken were dry.

The place used to the one of my favorites. The food was so good and the people were quite friendly. The last time I went there there were a lot of things that were off. Maybe I got there late and most of the food was gone, whatever the case was I wasn't pleased at all.
