I've been going to this place since the early 70's and their pastrami sandwich is great, the meat is not old or brittle but soft and fresh, and you get a whole lot of fries

I regularly arrive buying some food in this place. I like the speedy service and well prepared dishes. Keep it up.

While the pastrami is pretty tender, it does run on the salty side. They use skinny fries, which are serviceable. They did seem better than In N Out fries though. The avocado sauce was unexpectedly bold in flavor, featuring a spicy kick that complimented the avocado flavor. The zuchini fries, though generous in quantity, also long and thin, had unseasoned batter. This was accompanied by what seemed like bottled ranch. Unfortunately, the zuchini fries are just outclassed by the ones at Pharo's. Considering that Tops Jr is just a counter and two picnic tables, the prices feel rather expensive. Although similar to the Hat in that respect, the ambiance is much better at the Hat after dark.
