A true classic Italian deli and shop. Fabulous sandwiches and Italian TV while you enjoy your food. The shop is extremely clean. There wasn't even a speck of dust on the overhead vents. You'll enjoy practicing your Italian with the proprietor. She is wonderful!

Tony's colonial food and Deli has been around as long as I can remember. It's it's at the end of Atwells Avenue right across from another Deli called Roma. Tony's Cooks the food right in front of you there or prepares food and usually has a couple really nice people serving you from behind the deli. This is Italian at its finest for Federal Hill at a deli. You can get quite a few varieties of olive oils spaghettis Italian spices breads, and much of it is ready to eat. A definite Stop on Federal Hill.

I purchased 3 balls of provolone cheese and it was fantastic! Excellent smell, taste and texture! The provolone was delicious on pizza and in a sandwich!

AMAZING italian subs. If you like stuffed cherry peppers and "charcuterie" i.e. delicious cured Italian meats, then just go. also great prepared foods. I also had a really good veal parm sub there the other day. Take your mom--she'll feel like she's back in the old country!

Tony's Colonial Food has quite the selection of expensive Italian (mostly Southern Italian) foods. It's all good food, but you're paying a hefty price for it. And here's the thing, my family who came from Italy wasn't paying these prices to make their outstanding meals. All that said, if you're okay paying what Tony's is asking you to pay, then it's a great spot for you. You'll have a good meal or you'll be able to find some enjoyable treats and you'll be satisfied. Just go in expecting to pay a bit for the experience.

Excellent as expected. Every thing Venda has but on a smaller scale. Plus not crowded, which I don't understand

Good Italian food. But the service was really slow. I guess they rely on the store more than the restaurant.

Truly a gem in Federal Hill. Tony's is a classic Italian market with a great hot lunch counter and a variety of take home entrees, as well as a market of dry goods, pastas and authentic Italian supplies. Sandwiches including chicken parmesan, proscuttio and mozzarella, and sausage, peppers and onions are quickly made for eat-in or take out. A full deli with specialty meats, cheeses and olives, as well as cooked meals like sausage with broccoli rabe, and eggplant rollatini are available in different sizes for single or family-sizes servings. Highly recommended!

We used to live in Northern Italy and being in this store, sipping delicious cappuccino and espresso has us feeling nostalgic. It’s a great store with such a variety of snacks, ceramics, meat, cheese, baked goods and more. The customer service is superb too! We will definitely be back soon.
