There are so many choices in the east village when you're looking for a dive bar.  Tom & Jerry's is a good choice.The bartenders are always cool and the music is always really good and not super loud.  It's a pretty big place, but it manages to be cozy enough.High celings so you don't feel cramped, even when it's a little crowded.  There's a big table in the back if you come with a group - if you're lucky enough to grab it.Good prices for the neighborhood.

Rustic and very cozy place to hang out.

Went to this place in the middle of the week last summer after a staff party. A bunch of drunken coworkers in a bar is a recipe for disaster. Fortunately none occurred before I left. Extensive drink menu with cool cocktail choices. Drinks are strong. Somewhat rustic interior. Nothing fancy, just chill.

Beware of the bear. It's a local's favorite, but I don't think it's anything too special. The drinks are pricey and Happy-Hour is typical.

This is a great bar to meet up with a friend on a weeknight and have a few drinks and talk. The atmosphere is excellent - high ceilings, spacious surroundings, solid wood tables, mountain-cabin decor. The bar tenders are very friendly and professional and know how to make great drinks. Tom & Jerry's is a great haven from the hustle and bustle of downtown Manhattan just past its doors. One note - it is cash only.

Its a nice bar but staff needs to improve.
