Went here on a whim with my Dad, it was fantastic. The beans blew us away. Ended up ordering some to go and glad I did. They give them to you in a sealed bag so you boil them at home and they turn out perfect.

Yes! I get the vegan black bean tamales and they are the best tamales I've ever had! The refried beans are also very good! I eat here frequently and never had a bad experience. Definitely recommend!

I've been wanting to try this place for awhile and finally got the chance since I was on that side of town. Went around 2 pm on a Saturday, very busy. Changed my order from dine-in to takeout due to no available tables -- no big deal. Ordered 4 tamale plate, 3 regular pork, 1 chicken. Unfortunately when I got to my destination, I discovered my order was wrong. Received 2 habanero pork and 2 chicken. Didn't realize how spicy the pork was until after my child took a bite. Beans and rice were good. I'll give it another try one day before giving up.

We were in Grapevine and while there we wanted to find tamales for the holidays. We were very impressed with the friendliness of the staff. When we got home, we tried the tamales and they are excellent!!! If you are in the neighborhood, stop by to eat or carry some home. You will not be disappointed. Authentic!!! First of many visits. Was a little bit skeptical when we saw five stars on Yelp... now I know why. More food than you can eat for the money it was delicious!!! Will definitely be back. Met Tommy and he was extremely nice and attentive. Keep it up guys this place is awesome!

I went for the first time. And got the pork tamales which were awesome! I got the frozen ones and followed the heating instructions! I also got the Mexican Rice, cheese Queso and charro beans!! All of it was the best I have ever had. Well worth the drive! The owners are wonderful people. Family owned and operated! Truly a great treat of authentic Mexican food!!

This is a fantastic spot for good Tex-Mex. Tommy greets everyone and thanks them for visiting and sincerely asks if there is anything he can do to make your visit any better. The food is reasonable priced, prepared and served quickly and in generous portions and the service couldn’t be any better. The hatch Chile tamales are my absolute favorite! The enchiladas and quesadillas are also worth a try. Delicious!

The food is amazing.. Friendly staff, they make you feel at home. Also they sell an entire line of salsa, chips and etc in the restaurant.. we will return again and again!

This is our third year in a row to purchase Tommy Tamales in advance, frozen, for use at Christmas Dinner. It's a family favorite. We are originally from San Antonio and the tamale bar is set very high. Tommy is one of the only places I have found in DFW that delivers on quality and taste. Very authentic and absolutely delicious. The dine in experience is awesome too. I highly recommend the Tommy Bowl and the Tamale Pie. YUM!!! The owners and staff are all very pleasant and nice. Makes for a great environment. I think the prices run about $12-13 a dozen so a GREAT deal. You can't go wrong serving these on holidays!!

I adore this place. Tommy actually walks around and greets guests!! And he's the friendliest guy, ever! Plus, the food is just like my grandma's was during my childhood!

At lunch @ Tommy Tamales in Grapevine. Great place! The food is delicious. We aren't normally in the neighborhood, but had to drop by for tamales for papa's birthday. Yummy! Tommy was there this afternoon. Fun guy - friendly and funny.

Great food! Great choices! Super-friendly staff! The place to go for great tamales! If you like Frito-Pie - you have to try their Tamale Pie - it is awesome!

I've heard such good things about his tamales. So I finally had a taste it myself. Absolutely amazing. Will most definitely go again!
