Sufficient. That's what I can describe this place. When I went there for lunch on a Sunday, it was busy. Real busy. That is possibly why my food took a long time for me to receive. I had ordered the chicken fried steak and eggs which didn't have a whole lot of flavor. On the bright side, the plate was huge! The servers were friendly and took care of us the best and quickest they could.The dining areas seemed clean and that is important for many people reading reviews. What WASN'T clean was the spoon that I got. There was debris on it. That kind of stuff happens but the staff needs to be more mindful of their utensils before they place them.I would go here again but not during a busy time such as lunch on a Sunday.

Nothing really special about this place other than a stop by going out of town. Seems that their chicken fried steak and pies are their "MO" here in which I had none. I opted for the bacon cheeseburger and I'm pretty confident it came out of the freezer. Not a whole lot of flavor and a bit dry imo. Price range is a little on the high end but if you order one of their signature plates you will get a significant amount of food but can't tell you the quality. Staff is super friendly but service can be slow on the cooking side. Wife loved the sunrise cake, though!

Food was not good to be honest.. place looks cool but definitely not coming back.. the server checked the table behind us like 9 times before acknowledging us. (Matt) sorry but not good service

Food delicious, service slow. Lots of neat trinkets and mementos on the wall. A good place for breakfast and a few homemade baked goods.

Good place to get breakfast in Sandy. Also, cool historical features displayed from local pioneer era.

Fun place to stop...restaurant, gift shop, bakery, coffee stop. Average in food quality, prices and wait service. Bakery has exceptional selection.

Personally, I loved this place. Sandy is awesome for its old buildings, and the Tollgate Inn certainly personified this. Tastefully western themed makes one feel as those they should hitch their horse outside and request a room for lodging. Very friendly staff, heaping portion sizes. Biscuits and gravy were my favorite. Could use better coffee.

Really yummy BLT and onion rings. It is a charming location with lots of old-timey looking decoration. I would love then to update seating to cushioned chairs/booths as my back cant quite take sitting in hardwood for that long. Service was great and really friendly/attentive.

A most excellent restaurant. We celebrated our son's birthday yesterday. Great staff and delicious food. Highly recommend!

Great place! Food is great and service is good. If you're lucky you might see Jack or one of the boys from the "Gold Rush." Jack is a frequent visitor.

Good food and service. Tables and chairs could be a bit cleaner when seated. Price was also very fair. I had the chicken pasta. Very good and leftovers for me. All in my party were happy with their food.

A model of an Old West style restaurant, this place plays on it's historic location along the old northern route of the Oregon trail. Lots of classic decor such as old ads, postcards, and Western artifacts. We had lunch: a burger, a Reuben, and a taco salad. The food and service were fine for the price range. Generous portions and not too expensive. Good for a stop along the way to avoid typical fast few. For a few dollars more, get something that didn't come off an assembly line.

Oh my gosh, if you havent been here its a must! Large portions, delicious food and won't break the bank! The mac and cheese topped with brisket is probably the best meal I've had besides my grandmas cooking! The broccoli cheddar soup is awesome too! Even my kids liked it.

Great place to stop on your way to my hood. Nice pastries and tasty soup. Good value, popular place so parking can be tough
