This place is AMAZING! The customers service here really great. Lots of Food options. Sunday Buffet lunch is fantastic. They have live Music. Plenty parking in the back.

My friend Eddie Wilson has perfected the comfort food concept! His Mama's recipes, great management, and great service make Threadgills one of my favorite places to eat! I love the food, super consistent and delicious.Damn, I sound like a commercial, but this place is an Austin Icon, and I Love it!

All food is outstanding! Particularly noteworthy are the outstanding vegetable selections which are all delicious. San Antonio Squash, Blackeyed Peas and Mashed potatoes with cream gravy are my favorites. I particularly like the chicken fried chicken & steak, grilled pork chops and meatloaf.

Threadgill's is basically an institution. It's been around forever and if you live here then you've probably have eaten Threadgill's. One of those places people say, "Wait, how have you never been here?!" That being said, the service is great and you definitely get some Texas atmosphere.

Daily specials. Beef, chicken, pork, seafood, and a large selection of vegetables which are clearly marked V vs M if you are a vegetarian. Yeast rolls and cornbread are served with your meal.

Food is huge and is pretty good. If you are looking for large portions and something with a homecooked feel this is the place for you. They also have a music museum too if you wanna check that out.

I am a frequent diner at Old #1. Usually I’m a chicken fried steak man, but on this week’s visit it occurred to me that in the 25 years I’ve been coming to Threadgills, I’ve not had their burger. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger with mustard, no tomatoes or onions. Burger came with tomatoes and onions, but no mustard. I removed the offending items and dug in absent the preferred condiment.At first glance, the burger seemed smaller than the usual. But it was more than enough. Well prepared and tasty, I found this burger a delight. Bacon crispy, patty was perfectly cooked and the bun held up! Really a terrific burger. Would have been better with mustard.

Texas comfort food as you like it! Love the laid back atmosphere, with a saloon vibe and stage n the main room. Their selection of sides is the best I’ve seen in the Lonestar state...so much so I enjoy getting nothing but sides from time to time. Friendly service, fair prices... enjoy!
