Thornton's Restaurant

Went with my two friends and got the Amaretto vanilla french toast, it was probably the best french toast I've ever had. Had a bite of my friends reuben and it was great. This place healed our souls after eating cafeteria food for three months straight.

Albeit a neighbor, I can't consider breakfast or brunch anyplace other than Thornton's. I'm easy - Eggs BenedictOn the edge of hotel concentrations, the price for the treat is perfect. The wait in line is all part of it, a camaraderie of sorts grows out of it. Folk talk to each other.The menu? Whatever you're inclined to.

Good food, fast and friendly service.

Great breakfast spot. The staff was nice and service was quick. They had outdoor seating which was great. Food was made to order and came out fresh.

I love this place, and I come here often. The staff is super friendly and they serve simple, down to earth and good food. It's small but in the summer they have a significant of space outside (covered) and it is great for people watching.

On the last day of my 4 day stay in Boston, St. Patrick’s Day, I could have chosen anywhere to have my last meal. I am so lucky that I chose Thornton’s at the last minute. Everything looked and sounded good, so I opted for Alex’s Crazy Twos—eggs, bacon, sausage, toast, pancakes, and home fries. I am so picky about pancakes, but the buttermilk ones were perfectly fluffy, crispy on the edge, and melt in your mouth. Dare I say the best cakes I’ve ever had outside of my own kitchen? Paired with the bacon was incredible, but then I tasted the sausage links. YUM. Not skimpy, and the flavor was so good. For this girl who is ready to be home again, I was so comforted by this cozy cafe and the home-cooked brunch. I would definitely come again!!

No nonscence breakfast stop with decent coffee and tasty eggs

Great for breakfast and lunch. Very efficient for order to pick up. Staff are very friendly and nice. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. The price of food is not bad.

Absolutely fantastic spot for breakfast, especially if staying at the nearby hotel. Got huge portions of scrambled eggs and pancakes for around $7-8 each. Really tasty too. Staff were very nice and kept topping up our coffee. The atmosphere is good too, as some other review said, it has a nice mom and pop feeling to it. Would absolutely seek out this place if I'm ever in Boston again!

Straightforward, no-nonsense diner-style restaurant. Pretty average food, but the affordable option in an area full of premium (and overpriced) restaurants is much appreciated.
