The Yard

Had the Philly and it was outstanding. Food came out hot and the service was outstanding.

They have an amazing selection of beers (maybe a little too heavy in IPAs though) and fantastic chips to go with the sandwiches. There are many choices of sandwiches to choose from. I ended up getting a safer choice in the Philly cheesesteak and it was what I would expect. I wish now I would have tried something a little outside of the norm. The tomato soup was quite tasty as well.The atmosphere was similar to a sports bar with a few TVs going. A little loud with a good sized crowd that night. I would try again when in the area.

The yard was a great place to eat at Market square. It was open til 2:00am. We will be back. Great restaurant and service. Oh and great food. But no sweet tea.

Ate here with coworkers. Employees were great. Would not go back here.

Foods great! Atmosphere is different and inviting

This is one of my favorite restaurants in Pittsburgh. I've been to this location as well as the one at the Galleria mall in the South Hills, and both are fantastic. Typically I have the "Mother of Dragons" sandwich with mac 'n cheese added, which is amazing. Their house-made chips are delicious also. I always sub out the tomato soup mainly because I just don't like tomato soup but they have several other options. Their poutine is incredible as well, and they always have a great selection of draft beers including seasonal selections. My mouth is watering for a sandwich from The Yard right now!

The Yard was just fine. The cocktails were good but not great. The food was mostly okay. I think we enjoyed the soft pretzels the most. I got a grilled cheese called "My Diet Starts Monday". It included bacon, fried chicken, and syrup - a sort of chicken and waffles grilled cheese. Unfortunately nothing really stood out! The chicken was a little dry, there wasn't enough syrup to make it sweet, not enough cheese to make it cheesy, not enough hot sauce to make it spicy. I think it's a sandwich with a little bit of an identity crisis.

Good food. Didn't realize it was a chain. Good Pittsburgh vibe!

Great local beer selection. Good food. Relaxing place. Go Mondays for the local pint special.

Great food. Place is a little loud, but worth it. My favorite is the buffalo mac and cheese grilled cheese.

Beer tastes off here. It was clear to me their tap lines aren't cleaned thoroughly enough or frequently enough. Atmosphere is decent and beer selection is quite wide.

Very disappointed in the yards “growler deal.” This was one of the biggest scam in Pittsburgh. Growlers typically cost around $20 at area breweries and currently some bars are even selling for around $10. The Yard is charging you full menu price for each of beers you put in a growler and then taking 30% off. Not realizing this ahead of time, believing they were charging for a typical growler fill up, and we ended up paying $54 for a growler! It would have been cheaper to go directly to the brewery. It actually would have been better for us to do this because we would have at least been supporting the local brewery.

Food is alright. Good portions and pretty filling. Thought the burger was really nicely charred, but could have used a bit more seasoning on the meat.

Who doesn't love great grilled cheese and tater tots.
