The Uptowner Cafe On Grand

Wasn't sure where to eat and as it turned out, made the right choice. Portions were beyond American sized and the food was great. I had at least two meals from this. The service and ambiance was great too.

This is my favorite diner that I've come across in the twin cities thus far. It hasn't been super busy when I've gone, and is really good fairly priced food for what you get. I only originally tried it because of a Groupon I found, but I'm glad I did because it's definitely my top pick for breakfast in that neighborhood.

We had a Groupon to go to The Uptowner and we gathered two other couples to meet for Brunch today on Sunday! We had a little wait for the 6 of us as they were pretty busy! And it is a smaller Restaurant... They had to put together a table of 6 for us and we started with coffee!! I ordered eggs and toast and my Hubby ordered a Denver Omelet and his plate was loaded with a large Omelet and a huge amount of hash browns and toast!!We all had a nice time visiting with with many repours of coffee!! :)Parking was a little hard to find on the street but it was worth the Trip!Thank You, cute Red T-shirts everyone wears and fun to watch the cooks making our meals on the open grill!

Amazing food! Excellent service, so fun to watch the cooks whip the food out so perfectly and quickly. Well worth the stop for breakfast! We were there on a Saturday morning about 10am, waited maybe 10 min. I had the Cajun breakfast with Andouille sausage. Also couldnt pass up the cinnamon pancake - Wow!

Very tiny busy place, but well worth the wait. I ordered the Cajun Breakfast with the Andouille sausage and marble rye toast. All of it was amazing. Huge portions on a platter. Food was at good temperature right down to the last bite.Atmosphere is noisy and dining area is cramped but everyone is enjoying their experience too much to care about that. Service was consistent. Will definitely go back for the Tex Mex!

Very greasy. Skip the French fries they were awful. Philly steak was pretty good but very greasy. My Stomache did not like that much grease. The staff are nice. The place is a bit run down and showing it's age.

No frills and all flavor. This place had been my favorite breakfast restaurant since I've moved to the twin cities 3 years ago. I come here about once a month on Saturday mornings.This greasy spoon serves up the best breakfast in the cities with portions that will leave you with leftovers for days!100 out of 5 stars.

Super yummy food with a classic diner feel! It is a smaller space, so large groups should keep that in mind! I ordered the Eggs Benedict and they crushed my brunch craving! Definitely looking forward to visiting again and trying other items on the menu.

I haven’t been to this cafe in years. The last time I went I remember the food being delicious so I wanted to come back and have my boyfriend try it. A week ago I order two farmers breakfast for pick up. I get back to my hotel and my hash browns are the worse I’ve ever seen. Burnt everywhere! This meal was 40 dollars that I don’t ever pay anywhere for breakfast. I’m upset at this point. I call to inform them of the hash browns and the do nothing about it. Spoke to owner and he tells me to find somewhere else to eat. I won’t ever eat at this cafe again!! Ever!

The food was delicious. Service is fast. Very small place and fills fast. $15 for breakfast and only two slices of bacon though?

Greasy spoon. Food was good but too much oil for my system. My adult son & I both ended up with gut pain which led me to the bathroom. But it was tasty going in. I don't fault them.We carried out using a Groupon. Great deal, prompt service.

Small spot, went during busy time and waited 15 minutes. Large portions and good food. Would go again.

Good super size food. Average price. Great wheat pancakes. Not a good place to go with big groups. They don't have enough seating.
