The Town Pump Tavern

Don't waste your time and money. We were ignored from the minute we walked in and sat down. After an hour of waiting for a salad and a pizza, we still only had a glass of water in front of us, and that was only because I had gone up to the bar to let someone know we were there. I was told by a very rude woman behind the bar that, well, I'm here, I'm not coming over to you. Another 'waiter' - a young man, was equally as nonchalant and dismissive when i asked for help. Two other tables - about 12 people in all - who came in at the same time as us, all got up and left - owner, I hope you take note at the fact that your lazy, incredibly rude staff are losing you money like that! We ended up walking out and wasting an entire hour and 15 minutes and then had to find somewhere else to eat at 11pm at night.

This is a great place to go before a sporting event in downtown Detroit, but you should get there early because it fills up fast. Service used to be an issue but the last 2 times I've been there, we had a server that was very good. The pizzas are excellent and I recommend the Mr. Meaty (if you like meat on your pizza).

Great atmosphere loud music, good servers good food, all-around good time.
