The Root Cellar

About

The Root Cellar is an organic, farm to fork restaurant located in the Old East Village in London, Ontario. We serve a from-scratch seasonal menu of all organic foods focusing on locally grown produce. Lunch available daily 11am-5pm, dinner available daily 5-9pm, and brunch available Saturdays 9am-1pm. We believe that food is political, that the choices we make about food--what we choose to eat and who we choose to support by doing so--resonate throughout our community, our economy, and our planet. At the foundation of this project is a commitment to invigorating our local economy, discovering the plenitude of our local foodshed, supporting sustainable agricultural practices, and working cooperatively.

The food here is very, very good and is paired with a decent selection of local craft beers.Really friendly staff and a charming aesthetic that makes it great for date nights. One of my favourite restaurants in the city.

I really enjoy the concept of this place along with there very extensive menu. Wide variety of choices. It definitely was a good spot to go with friends that have a wide variety of dietary restrictions or diets. I went there with a vegan, vegetarian and celiac and it was nice for them to be accommodated without compromising their meal. I did find my burger to be a little dry and not well flavoured however.

Questions & Answers

On dundas street across from it there is lots of parking. There is also a huge parking lot behind the grocery store opposite it.
