The Restaurant at W South Beach

About

The Restaurant W South Beach (RWSB) is from the long-standing Miami-based KNR Hospitality Group, officially opened on May 1, 2019. At the helm, Executive Chef Josh Gripper along with Executive Sous Chef Mario Alegre have created what they are dubbing as a "Roots American" menu, influenced by their respective upbringing - from Gripper's classical training and growing up in New York with family roots in the U.S. South to Alegre's Puerto Rican heritage. Combined with both of the chef's Caribbean inspirations, the result is classic comfort food that reflects the melting pot of flavors in South Florida. The 200-seat indoor-outdoor restaurant accommodates a range of seating options from an intimate dinner party for 12 to a larger affair for up to 70 guests on the lush outdoor patio, known as "The Grove"

Ran in with a colleague after a really long day working an event. The food was excellent and the service was decent, but the food took FOREVER! Was like the kitchen either skipped our order or never received it. In the end we spoke with the manager and he made it right, otherwise this would be a bad rating. Probably wouldn’t visit again unless I was already at the hotel, but the food was excellent.

There are hundreds of choices in South Beach for meals. There's a temptation to ignore the hotel restaurant for something different, believing the experience has to be better elsewhere. That is not the case here at RWSB. From the drinks to the appetizers to the entrees to the finish, there isn't an item or an experience on the menu that has gone overlooked. Sitting in such a well designed and decorated space, it is impossible to believe that it's simply called 'The Restaurant', but after dining here on several occasions, it's hard to imagine a name that doesn't fall short of the reality. The food, the service, the people, the experience, it's all really that good.
