We were lucky to get a walk-in, but advise that you book ahead. The food here is simply delicious and the stand out dish was the flank steak which was cooked to perfection and had great texture.Extensive but pricey wine list and a great selection of beers.

Had an amazing experience. 8,5/10 in Myke scale. Nice staff. Creative menu. The steak could have been cooked a touch better but the sauce was the best I have in the UK. The sharing board was also outstanding, scotch egg excellently cooked, fish nice and chrispy. Overall really preasant experience.

Very good British food. Meat is always freshly selected from the local suppliers. The pork and the steak were really tasty. The bone marow lacked a bit of salt. Expensive, but very nice atmosphere for dinner.

Outstanding roast - we each tried the lamb, roast beef, and pork. Each was excellent. The rice pudding was our standout dessert. Try the Romanian Pinot Noir with the roast. Excellent service - thank you Olga! - and a lovely ambience.

Such an incredible pub. The atmosphere is chilled, whilst buzzing with the hum of locals catching up. The menu is uncomplicated, whilst bursting with complex flavours. The dishes are simple, with a focus on great quality ingredients. The beer I had was local, brewed at Hammerton Brewery around the corner. And finally, the service was attentive, human and genuinely 5* but without being over fussy. This might make my list of all time favourite pubs.

The food was really good quality but definitely felt more like a restaurant, than a pub. Our table had Steak, Pork and Plaice and everyone was happy with the food. About £130 for four mains and 6/7 drinks, so could be considered pricey by some. Cute idea to present bills I old jam jars.

Very tasty food, slightly pricy but we enjoined it. I recommend the dark chocolate hot pot for dessert!

Proper gravy and a well cooked yorkshire are essential for a great Sunday roast and Pig and Butcher have nailed it. The beef was tender and pink and there's a healthy choice of wines and beers. Can't fault it!

Walked in without reservation and although the restaurant was quite busy, they managed to find me a table.Very nice atmosphere, well located in Angel, the food was outstanding but it took more than 20 min to arrive, so make sure you get a starter (it’s worth it) and a nice drink to wait for the main. The size of the portions are good. It’s a bit pricy and they charge the tap water (weird), the staff are cool but one of them was a bit moody. I recommend.

Nice service, expensive food not of the best quality. For somewhere that prides itself on sourcing meat a minute steak, not very good, was the only steak on offer. Other food slightly better, but not worth the price. Very disappointing.

Sunday roast is a British tradition that I can get behind and The Pig and Butcher never disappoints. Well appointed from start to finish, the cozy pub space helps make the inevitable wait worth it. Local tip: arrive by 11:45 and you should be good to go. Arrive a bit later and grab drink(s) nearby.

Great local food, relaxed setting and good atmosphere. Love that half of the seats are not for booking so it’s doesn’t always an opportunity to get a last minute table.

Amazing roast dinners. It's worth getting a dessert even if you're full. Arrive early to get a table.
