The Merchant Ale House

A definite go-to place if you're in the area. My friends and I are big fans of the blueberry beer but there are a lot more choices if that's not your thing. The food is pretty good although I have been a bit disappointed by the burger, but that's just personal taste. Nachos were delicious.

Felt like I was in another country, like Ireland, in the old days. Nice decor that transports you, great drink menu written in beautiful calligraphy, nice ambiance and what's real cool is the proximity with the musicians. If you want to have a chat one-on-one, you can go downstairs where it is quieter.

Amazing food, smaller menu but you won't be disappointed! Great shareable items too, if you are a group. Beer, beer, beer, so many local brews and in house classics as well as guest brews from Toronto etc. The staff are great just be careful going to the washroom, as the staircase is narrow so it's one person at a time going up or down (there is an accessible washroom on the main level though!). Also brought a 5 month old along, very chill location during the day for babies 👍😊
