This was my first experience with haggis and the Local Butcher Shop did not disappoint. Ordered a 5 lb haggis here for a Burns Night Supper and only two of our fifteen or so guests had tried haggis before yet everyone was pleasantly surprised. The flavor lies somewhere between cajun boudin (pork liver and rice sausage) and scrapple. I'm a big fan of both of those so the haggis suited my tastes well. Though it didn't need it, our haggis was complemented by a cream whisky sauce and a brown beef/red currant gravy (recipes found online) which made it astonishingly delicious. The leftover haggis was also great with eggs and toast for breakfast. Will be back to order another for Burns Night Supper next year; good job, Local Butcher Shop!

Had some pretty good meats, but nothing truly mind blowing. Everything was above average, but nothing stood out.

Save this business from the mentality ill that have been harassing them. Great business.

Questions & Answers

Yes!

We sell pork blood.

Sometimes call to see if there is any in the case.

We only carry it around the winter holiday time. It is from Rossotti Ranch and is beyond humanely raised. They sell at the Sunday Marin Farmer's market in San Rafael if you are looking for it sooner!

Yes, the accept snap/ebt

This isn't the local butcher, but a public former. They probably do, but you should contact them directly.

Every now and then we will get goat meat. It is expensive and thus, is not such a great seller. You can get great goat meat at the San Rafael Farmer's Market on Sundays from Rossotti Ranch.

We sell haggis in January and then frozen throughout the winter into spring.

We get a veal once a year. At that time, we do have cutlets available since we buy the whole carcass.
