Just moved back into the neighborhood after 30 plus years away. Went to the Laurel Tavern for for the first time in that many years... the Friday night fish fry, was just like coming back home. Great food and atmosphere. Predictably good and comforting... Thank you.

Close to the worst service we have had but plenty of people stopping in to eat. The bloodies tasted as if they were just tomato juice and Flieschman's. Long, long waits for simple drink orders. Bar stools were comfy. Pool table felt torn and taped. Lots of parking. A Madison institution I guess, but laying on its laurels.

Food was great, atmosphere was good, and service was just fine. Combine that with reasonable prices and you got yourself a good establishment. Cheers!

We went there only for Bloody Mary's this past Sunday. We were relieved that they didn't use a mix, so we could ask for a Bloody the way we prefer it. However, the bartender was really rude and was clearly upset that we ordered drinks! She was the reason for a one star review.

We go to the Laurel Tavern after our Badger events. Love the patty melt. The marble rye is excellent, A- on the fries but always hot. It’s small neighborhood bar with friendly service. Check it out.

Excellent fish fry, burgers and sandwiches are great. The best coleslaw in town!

A classic in it's own time. And great bar food. The Patty melt is a knockout

First time in Madison wanted a place relatively close to the campus. Came in for lunch. Place had 4.4 stars so seemed like one of the better places in the area, thinking now that might not be the case! Food was OK, not great. Server was good. Probably gets it good reviews from its bar atmosphere and/or Friday fish fry’s? I dunno. Place was forgettable for sure. Not bad not good, just ok.

Old time neighborhood bar. Decent food. Good prices for this area. We'll be back to play pool another night.

A neighborhood bar with a nice selection of American food and craft beers at reasonable prices. The food is good, the staff is friendly, and the place is always neat and clean. Not a sports bar, but a few TVs strategically placed allow for watching Badger & Packers games.

Just what I wanted and my lunch partner bought lunch. The bright sunny day helped top.
