The Himalayan Chimney

Expensive but pretty good. Unfortunately I can't remember the names of a lot of the dishes, but there was one with lamb in it that was really good (not vindaloo). The shrimp curry was not great. Would recommend the chicken biryani. One of the dishes that really shook me was the fish. I don't remember exactly what it was called, but it just melted in my mouth and the spices on it were incredible and crisped up the outside perfectly. Mango and plain lassi are also good. Tandoori chicken was also very good.

This place is fantastic. My sister in law said the drink she had was one of the best mixed drinks she'd ever had in her life. The presentation of the food is lovely. And everything was so flavorful and delicious. Will definitely be going back! FYI - we lived in the Detroit area for six years, so we had a lot of choice for Indian food up there. The Himalayan is right up there with the best places in Detroit metro.

Literally my favorite Indian restaurant in town. The curry is the best and you don’t wanna miss the nan as well. I deducted one star since the staffs are quite slow sometimes.

Great Ambience and food! Appropriate for a dinner date as well, if you're into indian food.

I've had very good meals at this restaurant, but the last meal I picked up was HORRIBLE. I threw the food out.

Excellent place for traditionl Indian cousine, the flavors are just right and dishes are tasty, portions are good for 2 people with a reazonable price. Entries vary between vegie, chicken, lamb or goat. Entries came with option of rice or naam, Big variety of drinks and cocktails. The place is big and spacious. Is located one block west of downtown, a public parking structure is in back of the restaurant.

The food was amazing! This is one of my favorite restaurants and I would recommend the chicken tikka masala 😁

I ordered Sunrise Mocktail and was served just orange juice. In the description it had 3 - 4 different types of juices mixed including Grenadine, however I was given just orange juice. When I asked the waitress about this they just took the drink I had and added a splash of Grenadine in the same old drink. Not the best service I experienced compared to my last visit.

I was in Champaign last week to meet my uncle's family and some friends. we decided to have some Indian for dinner. My friend recommended The Himalayan Chimney . As I entered the Himalayan, I was shocked by the decor because I haven't expected such presentation in an Indian backdrop. I got another glimpse at their sophistication when my food was presented with similar manner as their decor. There was a freaking Flower in my food and yes you can eat it. my food was beautiful as well as delecious. It was amazing! I'm definitely gonna be back soon.

We came for carry out. This place took me by surprise. The pistachio chicken, chicken 65, and rice were full of flavor. We ordered a side of cheese naan and loved every bite. We'll be sure to stop by again.

Delicious modern take on Indian cuisine. We went on opening day and were blown away by the amazing food, creamy mango lassis, attentive staff, and attractive atmosphere. The food was very tasty and portions were good! Tons of vegetarian options. It would be nice to see a lunch combo option in the future, because there are so many things we wanted to try it was hard to choose. We will definitely be returning to Himalayan Chimney soon!

One of the absolute best Indian restaurants I have ever had the good fortune to eat at. But that’s just my opinion. The restroom on the other hand needs plenty of work. But I didn’t come here to go to the bathroom.

The food was great, but the service was lacking. Looked like there was one waitress and it was a busy Saturday. Never got refill of pop, but was brought water several times by bus staff.

Not a fan. My dinner was extremely salty. Other dishes we ordered were not good. Server took a while to come to us after we sat, took our orders and never came back. Had to ask for our bill to leave. We’ve had better indian food in town. The interior is nice though. Wont be coming back.

Good food but not a great one , you can have the glimpse of Indian cuisine.you will not regret for trying once.
