Before I can get to the secret I should let you know the Hazzy IPA is not super hazy, but it's good, and the kitchen is not open yet. Service is nice and the space is open and inviting. It will be worth 5 stars if the kitchen is halfway decent when it opens. Ooo, also, they have boozy milkshakes.The secret is more people read reviews if they think there is a payoff below the fold.

We have visited the Grocery Brewpub a couple times now and have been very impressed. They have a good beer selection including several local brews and a fully stocked bar for some mixed drinks. The pool tables are a nice touch and something we had been missing locally. It is a great spot to stop in for happy hour or after dinner and relax with some live music or shoot some pool. I look forward to having many enjoyable evenings is this great local spot!!

One of my new favorite bars in Birmingham. Usually if you want to play pool you have to go to a dive bar. Well this place is very nice and has 4 pool tables. Highly recommend you check out. They also have live music on the weekends (maybe more often as I have only been on a weekend). The only brewery around I know that also has a full bar and sells generic beers like Budlight etc. Love it!

AVOID THIS PLACE!! We saw massive cockroaches multiple times while we were in the building with my family. The beer taps also look totally disgusting and our beer tasted buttery and spoiled! It seems like they never get their beer lines cleaned. The owner was completely rude and hostile when we mentioned a few things to him. Terrible business practice and poor ethics; lets hope this place gets closed down soon to make room for good Business in Homewood.

The staff is always so nice and the beer selection is great. Happy hour prices are good too.

No AC at 96 F makes the place a little less attractive. Charging $11 (10 + 10% tax) for a flight of 4 of their own beers of 4 oz each is too steep. Samplers and samples are the advertisement of a brewery. I understand that when people started taking advantage of free samples breweries had to start charging but $11 for the equivalent of a pint is too much. The Hefeweizen had little yeast and was more sour than fruit ester forward. The Porter had a pronounced licorice taste. All beers were OK but more in the flavor profile of homebrews .. In the end the pint that I ordered was a hazy IPA, which was not very hazy nor very juicy and missed the tropical hop flavor as well as the smooth mouthfeel. A good IPA but not a NEIPA.

Super fun place. They have a large selection of drinks and all the food is delicious particularly the shrimp tacos.

Love this place! Talk about variety! In addition to it's own craft beers, they carry popular beers from other local breweries. Wine and mixed drinks are also options if beer isn't your thing. Hungry? The Off the Hook food truck is always parked outside serving up great food. For entertainment they have pool tables, TV's for watching sports, live music and darts.It's so convenient having a place like this in Homewood so I don't have to always go downtown to get some good craft beer.

It is a trendy place with live music. They have their own brewed beers as well as selections of other beers and liquor. It is a nice place to go for after dinner drinks too.

I’ve been to The Grocery a handful of times just in the past week after discovering it. They have a great selection no matter what I’m thirsty for and have delivered great service every time. It’s a nice spot to hang out with friends or watch a game or two on all their TVs. They also have live music a lot which I ALWAYS enjoy. As far as food goes they have Off The Hook food truck out front until they finish the kitchen but it has great options by itself. And this place just opened a while back so I’m patient about waiting for the kitchen lol. Overall, this is a nice brewpub with good in-house options as well as a large selection of whatever else you could want. They have a great atmosphere, with a small town vibe, and they occasionally host JOX sports radio which is also entertaining. Every night I’ve been there has been some kind of event/special going on and it’s a really fun place to relax and just enjoy yourself or your company.

Awesome atmosphere for game day! First time going and will definitely be back. The beer selection was great too.

Mix of beer, music and solid food truck. Low ambient noise. Nice waitresses. Good all around hang out.
