The Golden Nugget Pancake House

Best restaurant for breakfast in Dayton. Usually the service is great, but for some reason the waitresses were having a tiff with each other, and nobody would help cover other tables to pour coffee. Normally I would give them a 5 star, but I shouldn't have to listen to arguments & wait 15 minutes for service after seated.

This place is a good 👍restaurant if you want basic old-school breakfast and lunch fare with a few more unusual items, but it has its flaws. While the seating is comfortable, the decor is tasteful, and the staff is courteous and responsible, there are items here which are not special orders, but that are not listed on the menu, and the Latkes are called "German Potato Pancakes"... All-in-all a solid four stars, but I can not, in good conscience, rate it a five.

I got the Thursday Special, French Toast with two eggs, over hard, and bacon as my choice of meat.The eggs were perfect. No strong taste, and not rubbery and wet like the way some eggs have tasted, for example from Bob Evan's. So delicious.The bacon had a good crisp to it. Was disappointed in the serving size.The French toast with hot syrup was SO good. Not many businesses know how to make a proper French Toast, so I was skeptical. They dip and let it soak in the batter for a while, and you can tell. Very buttery. I enjoyed it.The waitress was SO nice. She kept my iced tea topped up and made sure I got some to go. Very sweet lady. I came an hour into closing and no one was snippy about it. A lot of people were sticking around or ordering before 3PM, close time.My only gripe was paying $3 for a non-refillable cup of orange juice. That was supposedly a large (the empty glass). It was so delicious. I'm mad.Overall, I enjoyed myself and didn't spend a lot!

Used to go with my dad, step mom and my 2 kids. Dad took them a lot and they loved it. Is still run by the same people. Just in a different place now. Hadn't been for a long while. But went back and took two of my grand kids. They loved it too!

The food was awesome! It was crowded so there was a bit of a wait but definitely worth it!

Always and still do love the food and it usually comes quickly. However when we went today we had a very rude waitress and it felt like we were bothering her by being there. She brought our food and proceeded to tell us not to let the 4-year old pour the syrup like my daughter and I had no common sense. Then when we were getting ready to leave a different rude lady came by and demanded we give her the display on the table that listed the specials. Maybe it’s time for a few people to retire!

My first time visiting the restaurant. The environment, staff, and food were all excellent. I'll be going back soon. I definitely recommend the french toast.

Always good food, and service. They make the best omelets and french toast. The coffee is great as well

The food and service is always great! We've been coming to Golden Nugget since I was a toddler (stewart st). The new location has the same vive and service just bigger and newer. I have ordered the same meal every visit over the years. I no longer live in Dayton but it's a must have when I'm in town.

Good breakfast and friendly service! I was a little sad I couldn't order from the kids menu since I had gastric sleeve surgery and don't eat much. One has to be under 12 I believe. Though they where nice about it, apologetic and it was policy. Understandable. I'll definitely go back!

This place has always been a favorite to eat with the family for many years. Over the past few years the customer service and food quality has been going downhill, meal cost has increased and the feeling of being rushed through the meal has increased. With a family of 6 it is challenging to keep considering this place as an option.

Good food, good prices, large selection and friendly staff.

I loved eating here. It's a nice establishment and the service is fairly quick even though this place stays super busy. I got a country omelet with pancakes and it was really good. I loved it. Their gravy is really good. The pancake syrup is runny, which I don't mind but I guess some people do. Other then that you will have love the food here. They have a lot of omelet options, Canadian bacon, sausage, bacon and ham. They have oats, grits and cereal. They even have lunch options like chicken tenders, cheese burgers, turkey burgers and salads if you are not feeling breakfast but the people you are going with are.

It's been a few years since we were there. We had relatives visiting and took them out for breakfast. The food and service was excellent. I'm glad to see that they are maintaining high standards.

good food and consistently so. Gets busy but the wait usually isn't too bad
