A historic building along the Erie Canal has been transformed into The Dockside Bar and Grill, a casual-dining restaurant near the Gateway Harbor area of North Tonawanda. Built in 1890, the site was once used by the New York State Canal Authority to unload barges and store mule feed. The dining-room floor is original.

Good food and nice view on canal. Love that you can get a good fish fry 7 days a week. Nice system for checking in; they take your cell number and text you when table is ready. This way you can walk around water and not get stuck in doorway waiting. Really appreciate this !

Great ambiance, but the food tends to be over fried.

The Dockside is becoming my family's default restaurant. We showed up at a little before five on Saturday and had no wait. We received immediate service and ordered drinks. First things first. We used to judge restaurants based on their calamari. The calamari didn't disappoint. It was hot, crispy, and there was enough to share between the four of us. Everyone decided to order something different for dinner from what we usually order. I got taquitos which were amazing. I think I have a new favorite. The pork was cooked perfectly and the sides complemented the dish well. My two boys got wings of which they left no evidence. They must have been good as well. I suggest trying The Dockside out if you want a good meal with great service. Oh, and try the taquitos.
