Wonderful, cool, beautiful respite from the stifling summer heat in Charleston. Friendly staff greet you, and a convenient cafe offers a place to sit and relax either before or after your visit. The museum has wonderful works of art from modern to classical, sculpture to painting. Some of the more contemporary works referencing Charleston itself were my favorites. Don’t miss the Veiled Lady.

Questions & Answers

No, must pay. Worth it. Very good collection of local art

You need to contact the Museum for that info.

They showcase Gullah culture art, local antiques, and featured artists with ties to the area. Here's a link to their website- http://www.gibbesmuseum.org

I don't think so.

There is indeed a gift shop and they sell books.

Handicapped free.

When I went they had some local pieces.
