Everything was good, but for these prices it should be great or amazing. I was hoping for more flavor on everything, nothing was off or bad just boring.

Absolutely delicious. Every single plate was incredible. In our party we ordered 4 starters, 2 soups, 2 sides, several mains and desert. Perfect. Best Pho Bo EVER!!!!!

I have been here a few times but enough to know I would never come back. The quality of food is going down. Rude hostess and unpleasant vibe. We ordered everything from starter, salad, main entree, desert. One of our dishes was horrible, it is Half roasted duck: the amount of fat is beyond ridiculous, it’s actually like boiled duck, the meat is chewy, the rice come with it is super oily and pasty. For desert, I ordered coconut and pistachio ice cream, the ice cream melted when the server bring to us and has no flavor whatsoever. Overall, this place is overrated, overpriced, average food, bad customer service, not worth it.

The combination of flavors in every dish were superb. We didn't have reservations, but were able to get seating at a small table by the fireplace. Even though it's an out of the way pocket, the staff were very attentive to us. Food came quickly and so did the drinks.

We have been to all 3 Le Colonial Restaurants (SF, NY, and Chicago) and enjoyed them all. We visited this place over 10 years ago and loved it. On this visit to the windy city, we decided to have dinner there again. My first impression is that the ao dai worn by the front staff look too large and not elegant at all. The seating is a bit tight! The cocktail Le Tamarin was recommended and it turned out disappointing, I could not taste the tamarin. On the dinner menu, I wish the serving staff has more knowledge about the vietnamese name of the dishes. I ordered the Chao Tom in Vietnamese and had to translate to the English name for our server. The Chao Tom was decent. We ordered the Roast Duck and it was good, albeit tasted more Chinese than Vietnamese. The grilled eggplants was good, and so was the Rau Xao. The service was very good and attentive. However, we don't think that we'd go back there again. Overall rating is 3.5 out of 5.

I highly recommend the happy hour here! The cocktails were $9 each and the small bites were$9. *they changed the price to $12 now for the drinks. 😭. My favorite was the lychee martini. The mango Bellini was okay. The Vietnamese gimlet was a second. I had the chicken salad and the dumplings. Very tasty and good value. Then ordered the pho $14 from the regular menu. Very good too. The portions was small and enough I liked it that way. The ambiance and the decor was very lovely. I’ll come back here again for dinner and happy hour again for sure!

10/10. Everything here was delicious. I wish I could have tried more items. Beef pho was perfect size bowl for one. Chicken dumplings were very fresh and tasty. Crispy and soft at the same time. Clean restaurant and fast service. Would definitely recommend if in the area.

Before heading to the airport and back home (where there is expected high of 107, we went to Le Colonial, for what was our best meal of the trip! Mocktails; “Spring” with pineapple, mango, etc al; a bit sweet for me, but husband loved it! And “Autumn”, with pear, cranberry, lemongrass, etc . Perfect! Then appetizers: A crispy pork and shrimp roll, And a pan fried chicken dumpling, which husband said didn’t need his usual generous splashes of the accompanying sauce For our mains, a spicy chicken stir fryAnd shaking beef, which was a bit sweet, but might have been the best thing I’ve eaten…this year☺️ We even enjoyed desert! a vanilla creme brulee. Coconut pana cotta, with just the right juggle, diced mango, and an intensely flavored mango sorbet, and

Cocktails were the best part. I enjoyed our beef dish but who wouldn’t when they use filet minon. Kinda hard to mess that up. It was cooked perfectly but the rest of the dish was alright. We had a few appraisers, the dumpling soup, and the eggplant dish for meal along with the beef dish. All were underwhelming for the price. Location was great vibe was awesome albeit a tad on the darker side. They have an unenforced dress code which kind of irked me. Saw folks walking in with shorts when we made an attempt to comply with their policy. I have mixed feelings about the place. Food was underwhelming but I am certain it still takes a good level of skill to prepare the dishes. Investments are likely expensive but they don’t cover the meh-ness of the dishes.

Probably the best Vietnamese cuisine in Chicago. Would definitely come back for Pho. Unsure if the more expensive large meals are worth the price as we haven't tried them though.

Went here last week and had a rotten meal. I ordered the "signature" fried rice, which was supposed to include "ginger poached chicken" amongst other ingredients. What I got was unseasoned and cold. The broccoli appeared to be out of a freezer bag. The chicken had no flavor. The rice was so unseasoned that it barely had any color. I complained and got back the same bowl microwaved. I mean, seriously, this was perhaps the worst restaurant meal I've ever been served. I should have complained a lot more, and regret that I didn't. Really soured the evening.

Take the elevator up and you will be taken to another world. The food here was stellar and we had some of the most attentive waiters. As this is a gold coast location its very seen and not heard service (which really isn't my style as a born working class individual) but I still had some of the sweetest waiters and waitresses. Despite all that the fish was very fresh and very well done. You do pay a lot for the experience and some of the food just wasn't 10/10 more....8/10. But the presentation and space were immaculate. My heart goes out to the chef whoever you are you made me and my girlfriends late valentines day amazing!
