The Caged Bird

Good music. Good environment. Great service. Brunch bottomless mimosas and chicken and waffles to DIE for!!!!

The Caged Bird is at the top of Dupont Circle. It's got simple, tasteful decor. The bartenders were all kind and generous. I went for a mixer so the place was a bit busier than normal. There's an upstairs and downstairs, both with a few tables, chairs and bench seating. I didn't try the food, and didn't use the bathroom, but the drinks were delicious and a fair price. ~$9 for an Old Fashioned. I enjoyed the music: rap, hip hop, reggae mix but your mileage may vary. I'd say it's a pretty cool spot and worth a stop if you're in the area to barhop.

Don’t come on Sunday’s. Very slow and some of the employees aren’t very friendly(the hostess at the front or men bringing out the food ) the waiters are very sweet and try to be as helpful as possible but the place is too small and they’re extremely slow it took forever to get food. Every table around us was taking complaining about food nobody had their food at the same time. The business has potential I hear their fairly new so I’m giving 4 stars but they just need to work on this. I support black businesses but they need to get it together that’s why i couldn’t give it a 5.
