The Beehive

We hadn't been to the Beehive for a few years due to previous lackluster experience. Was anxious to give it another try after hearing good reviews. Had one of the specials and it was good, not great though, and my wife had a seafood which also was good but not great. Perhaps we aren't ordering what they are best at, but we expected better. The service and atmosphere were fine and food good, just did not think it lived up to expectations for what is considered a fine eating establishment in Abilene.

We had not been there in a long time. We got the filet on and it had no flavor. We were so disappointed bcuz Beehive is the place to go for a good meal.

Very good steak and sides.

Definitely will be back! Bartenders are the best!

I like the neatness and service of the restaurant. I order a ribeye steak , excellent cook steak . Well ordered ... very please . I will come again .

My husband loves the prime rib and Long Island ice tea. I love the shrimp scampi. The bread is good enough to eat by itself. If you haven’t tried the Bee Hive you’re missing out.

Wonderful food, had the jumbo beer battered shrimp, cooked to perfection. Salad was nice, and the bread served with the meal was a pleasant surprise. Try the long Island iced tea from the bar, the citrus flavor paired well with the shrimp.Service was impeccable. Overall couldn't ask for a better experience.

Delicious, well prepared and presented food, great service, reasonable prices, generous portions, cloth tablecloths, fresh flowers, American success story (read the back of the menu and meet the owner).

It's a very traditional, western style, cozy type of restaurant with a fine dining feel and good service. The bread was a bit hard and getting any piece of it left a huge mess of flakes on the table. The beef soup was very good. Not overly salty like it can be at other places. I was a bit disappointed with the steak. Although the seasoning was very good and very peppery, I requested it be cooked medium and as you can see, it was well done all the way through. All in all, a nice dining experience in Abilene. If it was out of 10, I'd give this place a 7.

They have a great staff and the BEST Steak & Salad

I have eaten here many times for lunch & dinner. This is my favorite restaurant to dine @ when in Abilene. This is a local gem located downtown & provides fabulous food & fantastic service. There are many food options with good prices. Portions are fairly large so splitting an entree is recommended. The chicken fried steak is not to be missed & I recommend splitting it as it’s a large portion. The Beehive salad is fabulous & I always order it. The ice tea is just how someone from the South will love. This is a very nice restaurant for business or pleasure. It’s not too loud so you can hold a conversation. Nice decor and reasonable prices. They do not seat incomplete parties so plan accordingly. Parking can sometimes be a challenge during lunch.

Love the atmosphere. Best date night place to go.. great food and lovely staff. Very attentive, but not hovering.. we will be going back for date night

I am just passing thru this little town and asked my hotel shuttle driver to recommend a restaurant where I could grab something to eat real quick. He suggested the "Beehive" and let me tell you I am happy he did! The food was well prepared. I ordered the salmon which came with a side of sweet potato, a rice and vegetable soup and it hit the spot. I enjoyed my food so much I forgot to take a picture 😔. Nonetheless I would recommend this spot and I will be stop by if I am to ever pass thru this little town of Abilene TX again.
