The food and service was great. The food was expensive but everything was tasty and fresh. We started with fried calamari and raw oysters. Oysters were large and the calamari was fried with jalapeno peppers. I had the CT lobster roll which had large pieces of lobster. The kahuna chocolate cake was also delicious, but expensive at $15. Of course the view was gorgeous as it is on the beach. Our waitress was very attentive. It was a pleasant experience.

Views are great, as are the staff & drinks. Food is okay to decent, but to the people complaining about prices; you're in a restaurant on the beach. They're going to be a little expensive (but not crazy expensive, more like city-casual expensive). Unsure what the tears are about. We've come here in both work attire and "play" clothes, both seem appropriate. TL;DR: nice spot to hang and catch your breath.

Water views, friendly staff, menu always changing. Served seafood in the summer and comfort food this off-season. Short rib tacos were a first for me. Good for families or couples. Nice bar for games or socializing

Great location on the water. Food was great and the view is nice but it is definitely a bit pricy.

Recently celebrated a Birthday/New Year's Eve party with 70+ guests, and I could not have been happier with the service and the space. The staff catered to our every need until the wee hours of the morning - the food was great and the vibe was better. Based on my experience here, I would absolutely recommend booking this venue for any sort of occasion.

We had a lovely engagement party at the Barley Beach House last Saturday. The view and space are beautiful and Amy Boughton the general manager was a complete pleasure to work with in planning the party and at the time of the actual event. The food was delicious, beautifully presented and plentiful. It was also such a plus to have a beautiful bar in the middle of the space serving up drinks throughout. We particularly appreciated that Amy ensured that my father had the easiest possible wheelchair access. Amy was an absolute pleasure to work with from day 1. Everything that could have been stressful wasn’t because of her flexibility and because we had such confidence in her. During the party, knowing she was there for any logistics that might come up, freed us to relax and enjoy ourselves! This was a winter party and it worked beautifully. I would imagine it would be amazing in the warm weather!

The manager amy helped us plan the most perfect proposal party for my sister and now soon to be brother in law! She met with us, went over our budget and helped us create a personalized menu of drinks and food to accommodate us. She was very attentive with emails and keeping in touch prior to the event. The space was stunning and Amy accommodated our party with all our needs!! I would recommend anyone to have their next affair in their beautiful space right on the beach with views of the Long Island sound!!!!!

Our weekend brunch adventures continue... made it to this superb locale with amazing views. A short brunch menu, well executed: Lobster Benedict, Thick-Cut French Toast, and Eggs Florentine. The polenta with the Florentine and biscuit with the Benedict were freshly made and took each dish up in score. However the plates need some accoutrements, too much open real estate on the plate.. It looked like it skipped a step out of the kitchen. Service is friendly and kinda quick, there were preparations for a big party and that is where staff were tending too. We were close to waiving someone down 3x’s, but the view was enough to keep us distracted 😎 — at The Barley Beach House.

What a great experience my family had this past weekend! We were guests at a private event booked here. And it was just lovely to be on the water this time of year. The staff was super friendly and attentive. We will definitely be back. Nice to see they are open in the winter months. We will look into hosting our next family gathering there.

I was here back in 2015 when it was Seaside Johnnys. Very good service.

Greatly redesigned place with plenty of space. Lots of staff.Drinks - great price and good selectionWe had the fish and chips. Fish over cooked, fries limp and soggy. We should have gone for the calamari. Seems like the place looks was upgraded, but the food or cooks didn’t changed since the last time I came here.$10 buck for parking

Questions & Answers

Agreed. It's almost as if Rye does not want outsiders to come in. Maybe get the permit that costs significantly cheaper and includes parking and beach.

Very calm waters

See Rye Town Park website for full permit fees.

There's no pickelball court at Rye town beach park. Visit the town website for court locations.

This beach with restaurant is just for sunbathing

Depends... check town website. Pricy in the summer .... especially for non residents.

I believe they are close , the last day is usually labor day, sorry. But you can stil visit the park and take a walk on the beach, bathrooms are open no showers though.

I don't think so

All of the questions about price, parking, etc. Can be answered by calling the Rye Town Parks Department.
