Highly disappointed! I used this place for my daughters 1st birthday. Had a GREAT experience, cakes were perfectly designed, it was a dream catcher with her name, I got a cake with a smash cake for $57..so obviously I went back for my daughters 2nd birthday. I now regret referring people here. I'm not sure if they have a new manager/Baker, or they just got popular & quit caring about quality. I sent my husband to pick up the cake, so I wasnt able to say anything. Btw I paid $72 for this!!!!! (I wanted a smash cake this year as well. But I was told they werent able to make those but I could pay $35 for another basic cake Anyway the cake was supposed have happy birthday written on it. It was supposed to have a border that looked like grass. It was cute, but $72 for a simple cow cake! I expected a little more. Especially since i went to ingles In flowery branch and had a pig smash cake made for $7 I will not be using baking grounds EVER again

Adorable bakery with cafe inside. When you walk in you are overwhelmed by the pastry displays. So many to choose from. Open breakfast and lunch. Was doing a pretty big lunch crowd for a Tues. Menu is simple, sandwiches, salads and soup. Everything was good. Fun place for lunch.

If you're a cake lover like I am, The Baking Grounds Cafe is the place to go. I particularly love their wedding cake slices, which you can purchase when you have a taste for a delicious slice of cake, but don't want to buy the whole thing. Price for slices are mid-ranged. Cakes are made fresh every morning, and are visually beautiful. If you wait too late in the day, the wedding cake slices may be gone. That's a bummer. Although usually, there is another 'flavor of the day' cake slices offered. The Cafe bakery section also offer a wide array of cookies, brownies and breads.

Absolutely amazing!!! My wife loved her cake!! Not only was it beautiful, it tastes great. The service was great as well. I will be returning for any dessert needs.

What can I say about The Baking Grounds? Well they are awesome, amazing, talented, kind-hearted, joyous collection of people who are top notch! They put a grande grin on my hubs face with his custom chocolate overload goomba cake. Give them a try (or 5), you will not be disappointed!

The Baking Grounds came highly recommended by a friend. My fiancé (at the time) and I went for a tasting and I had to rely on his opinion as I am gluten free! He doesn't even really like cake but he loved all of the samples! I chose the design of our wedding cake based on four other cakes I saw on their site combined into one! I knew I wanted a Yeti cake for the groom's cake as my husband is a beer salesman. I was able to incorporate other things he loves by using sugar stickers. All of our guests raved about how wonderful and moist the cakes were! I was jealous that I could not partake in eating them but The Baking Grounds made me some super tasty gluten free cupcakes to enjoy!Our consultation went so smoothly that I did not worry one bit about our cakes for the months in between ordering them and them be delivered to our venue. I was so elated that both cakes looked even better than I could have imagined! I would definitely recommend The Baking Grounds to my friends and family!!

I stopped in because I needed to kill some time before an appointment. The restaurant is adorable and the staff is friendly. I ordered a biscuit with gravy and hashbrowns and it was great. I would highly recommend for breakfast!

Go for the salted breakfast food items, the bakery items are deceiving...look fantastic but they’re too sweet for my taste.

This has become one of my favorite places to eat. I absolutely love the atmosphere… The decor is fun… The staff is friendly… And the food is yummy. I especially love the tuna salad sandwich, broccoli salad and chocolate chunk cookies. This year we used one of their cakes for my daughter’s birthday and it was so pretty and was quite the wow factor for our gathering and It tasted delicious as well. I also bought some of their smiley face cookies and they were so good. We also have used their curbside pick up! Give this place a try!

Really lovely place to eat breakfast, lunch and of course cake!! Staff is super friendly and the food is awesome.

We placed an order for our sons first birthday at the baking grounds last Saturday.We ordered two dozen cupcakes and cake pops along with a winter theme cake.We are so happy with the way everything was handled from placing the order to pick up.We are no longer going to order cake or desserts from other places for special occasions. We finally found our cake place ( and they have so much more than cakes)

I have been going to this bakery for 3 years and its an excellent place for desserts, coffee, and sandwiches. My waitress, Marla, was a joy to have

Very good pancakes! Danielle, our server, is friendly and experienced. Great place to meet friends over good food and coffee.

BUT: Only reason why I am rating 5 stars is for the amazing customer service. Very polite and attentive to the customer. Food was good but not anything fantastic. Coffee was bad enough to give a negative 5 star, Corner Cup in Decatur is by far the best coffee around. Selection of pastries is very good and there is something for everyone. But again flavor was poor. Got a few items to try and was not impressed. Publix has better tasting pastries. I will come back at a later time and give it another try.

A very upbeat bakery/cafe. They make custom detailed cakes, cupcakes, cake pops, cookies, pastries and have beautiful wedding cakes for your special day. Everyone I went with loved their food. This is a great place for family oriented brunch.
