The Artisan Cellar

Artisan Cellar is one of my favorite escapes, a gem hidden inside the Mart. When I worked in the area, I used any excuse to walk over and grab a panini for lunch -- always the caprese! The daily specials for sandwiches and salads are usually very tasty, too. And, the specials are shared on social media, so it's very easy to plan and order ahead. Now that I work on the other side of the loop, I still find myself inventing excuses to walk west and grab a sandwich! Oh, and the wine! Did I mention the wine? Fab selection of French Rose and Cotes du Rhones and at comfortable price ranges, too.

Can take awhile to get sandwich, but doesn't really matter...food is good. Great wine and beer selection.

First time here and it was a great! Friendly staffed which is always nice. Was asked by multiple employees if I need help which I did. Prices were reasonable and the sales they have during the holiday can't be beat! Definitely a returning customer.

Such a great hidden gem! Their lunch menu is awesome - love their daily salads and soups. And they have an awesome selection of wines at all price points. The atmosphere is super enjoyable too. You feel like you are somewhere in Europe as opposed to downtown Chicago.

I love to sit in the middle of all the selling wines and enjoy an 'illy' coffe!

Places like this make me fall in love with the city all over again. Two guys laughing and giving each other a hard time behind the counter, all signs and labels hand written, and XRT on in the background -- this is Chicago. Plus, they make a damn good sandwich. I'll definitely be back.
