The 5 Spot on Broughton

Was better as "East End!" But 5 Spot is a real deal. The atmosphere and service are what you'd expect of a pricier restaurant. Happy hour is probably the best deal in town. Menu is good and has been getting better. The secret to this place is the basement; a speak easy vibe available for private events and sometimes small shows available to the public.

We were there with a group of 10 with reservation. Every 10 minutes the server came to take the order from one person. Needless to say that the food came 10 to 15 minutes apart to the table. We couldn't eat together. Mashed potatoes had more potato peels than potatoes. The fish was 2 little pieces about the size of 2 fingers. The hushpuppies were tiny and real hard. Not worth the money.

We placed an order for pickup and the staff was very friendly over the phone. Upon pick up we redeemed a coupon for the restaurant and the staff was very cordial about applying the discount to our bill. We ordered a total of 5 rolls which were presented beautifully in one big tray.
