Thames Landing Oyster House

Stopped for local food after sight-seeing. We did an early seating with the kids. Service was nice, attentive and friendly throughout our visit. We started with salsa & chips and lobster bisque. The chips were light and crunchy and the salsa was fresh and very tasty. I liked that it had a unique flavor- kinda sweet, kinda pickled with mild heat (hotter is an option). The kids loved the salsa. The bisque was very smooth and had a nice flavor. Their catch was haddock so I had their fish tacos. The fried fish was very light and the spicey sauce on top set it off. Hub's loster roll (ordered warm, of course, because we're in CT) was nicely done. Not overstuffed and served with warm garlic butter. Kids each had burgers- neither could finish because they were a good size. It'd be nice to see an offering on the menu for extra meat at a premium price. All plates were served with seasoned fries and fresh coleslaw.

Very pleasant atmosphere. We were there mid afternoon and ordered several items from the happy hour menu. Crab & salmon cakes, chicken wings and we also tried the lobster bisque. Everything was tasty. My wife’s favorite was the crab cakes and mines was the bisque. Definitely recommend.

Discovered this place while picking up my sister from the train station. I’ve been on a mission to find the best Lobster Mac and Cheese and this place is a hidden treasure. I definitely recommend it.
