I love the tacos which come in lamb, pork, and vegetarian. Also the lamb soup is the stuff. They also have coffee. I come here as much as I can, and early mornings are the best time because you’ll find parking in the neighborhood somewhere within 5 blocks (hopefully, I mean it is south Philadelphia). Every time I come here the staff and the owners are very welcoming and friendly. They sell the most authentic homemade Mexican food in Philadelphia.

Simply outstanding. The food was some of the best I have ever had and we had multiple items. The food is so so fresh. They are only open a few days due to the labor intensive work to prepare the food.The staff was also so nice. This is one not to miss.

I'll be honest, I liked but didn't love this place. The tacos were l very good and the homemade tortilla really added a lot to the flavor. However I was a bit disappointed with the portions. If you have to get 3-4 tacos to have a full meal, the $4 price per taco is just a bit more then I'm willing to pay regularly. Definitely still glad I went once for the experience though.

Yes, it seems a little disorganized inside, but you'll find that the chaos is orderly and it gets your food to you faster. This place has amazing tacos. They're simple, cheap, and delicious. You can order by the taco, or by the kilo (and make your own tacos).Everything is freshly made right in front of you. The tortillas are great, and the meat is fantastic. The service is fast, friendly, and efficient.Do yourself a favor and try a sweet tamale. They're very cheap, and surprisingly tasty. Would certainly go again.

If I can give an experience on this place and it’s food the place very nice very good atmosphere good workers but the food the food is like go into a Taco Bell or chipotle on its worst day eating leftover food from a week ago the pork had no flavor so the tortillas were hard the side salad you get the pickled side salad no flavor at all the only thing that made it semi-tasty with the cilantro and onion a block up From this place is a great taco place I try food all around the world cities towns I’m sorry Philly and the newspaper from Philly but this place is not all that put it this way my 16 your son can make better food than this place the pork could be so much more flavor I challenge this place to get me to turn around on his food.

South Philly Barbacoa is one in a gem in the East Coast!! I been to many Mexican spots and not too happy with the taste or quality of the food. Learning about this Mexican spot was a truly a gem. My husband and I come here regular and never disappointed with the service, food quality or food portions at ALL!! The food is fresh and made to perfect and so authentic. It’s definitely a must try food spot for locals and visitors too ❤️😋😋😋😋.

This place got featured on Chef's Table and the line stretched out the door. And all for good reason: the food is phenomenal! We took our barbacoa to go. It looked like it could be a wait to eat in when we were here last November. Whenever we go back to Philly I'm sure we'll be here again! It's certainly a different kind of food from what I usually eat.
