Amazing experience. My husband and I preferred this place over Taihoan, because the staff really took the time to explain the tea brewing process to us. Staff was very friendly, kind, and patient. We wanted to understand the difference between different teas and how to enjoy them correctly. We got this amazing experience with great tea and sweet staff at a very reasonable price. The view is a bonus.

Lovely instructors with high-end tea? Who'd say no? You need to call beforehand for a tea class (if you want one). The shop is open to everyone, though. So if you just want really good tea that'll blow your mind, check this place out

Fantastic staff and great tea. They helped us how to prepare it and educated us about the history. Then the waiter talked with us about his own tea fields and we found it very friendly and interesting.

We were looking for a place to learn more about green tea and the tea ceremony when we found this place. The staff was super friendly and lovely. The prices are very affordable (I think 500 yen per set). They have three kind of sets: matcha, gyokuro tea and sencha tea, as well as three kind of different sweets you have with tea. The lady explained us the whole process and told us more about the tea in general. It was an amazing experience I would recommend everyone who decides to visit Uji. She even gave us some handmade origami when we left!

Great place to experience sado...the tourists were somewhere else so I got a private lesson from a certified sado instructor at just 500 yen. The desserts were beautiful and also went well with the best tea in the world:)

Amazing and well-priced. We tried two kinds of tea and two kinds of treats. We expected to order the goodies and be done with it, but the staff members spent at least 15 minutes with us teaching us how to make the teas, which were, of course, delicious.

Absolutely recommend to everyone who wants to have a hands on experience of making Japanese tea. I can feel their enthusiasm to promote Japanese tea ceremonies instead of making money. You order Mocha, Gyokuro, or Sencha. The staffs will teach you how to make tea. Our instructor was very friendly and patient, spending more than 15 minutes to teach us, and we enjoy talking with each other. It has been a wonderful experience.

Tea for 500 yen, +150 for a sweet to accompany. The traditional sweets, and the cookie were both good.We got matcha and the gyokuro tea.The staff who served us spoke English and was very good about walking us through the process of making our own teas. There's a nice view of river and outside. Not crowded on a weekday around lunch, probably since they only serve tea, no food.
