Sushi was good. Excellent service. Well there were only 6 persons there. But good food and service!! Will definitely be going there again.

Sushi and sashimi simply and beautifully prepared. An unexpected neighborhood gem.

Good sushi. Limited selection of maki, but what they do, they do well. The udon noodles are also quite good, and hit the spot on a cold day.

Good food that tasted fresh and decent service. Rolls are more traditional sizes (smaller than you may use too) so be prepared to possibly order twice a much.

Very tasty sushi. Some of the best in the city. Service is also very good. Prices reflect location as well as food quality, but are reasonable considering.

Delicious traditional sushi in a clean and friendly environment. The nigiri and roll pieces are perfectly portioned to eat in one bite and prepared impeccably. The rice is cooked and flavored to perfection and the fish is sliced with an artful hand. If you’re looking for insane rolls with loads of sauce Sushi Gakyu isn’t for you, but if you’re looking for traditionally prepared sushi that highlights the flavor and texture of the fish, then look no further. For lunch I had the Gakyu Sushi Assortment and my husband had the Beef Udon Noodles. I didn’t manage to get a picture of the noodles because he ate them so quickly...but Im told the broth’s flavor was delicious with depth and complexity. I could not recommend this restaurant more. Thank you, Sushi Gakyu!

Don't let the decor or the location fool you, Sushi Gakyu punches way above its weight. The omakase is not cheap but it is a special treat.
