Not traditional edomae, but very fresh fish, and unique flavor pairings.

Heard this place was super fresh so decided to check it out it. This place was not bad but I wasn't overly impressed. I think my favorite piece was the fatty tuna. The uni was okay - served really cold so it overpowered the wagyu beef by the coldness of it as the waygu is warm. I couldn't really feel the flavor as much since the coldness of it was such a distraction but quality wasn't bad. It was $50 for 12 pieces. This place is quite similar to sushi by Jones and sushi by bou except this is a 1 hour omakase.

Good experience, chefs accommodated boyfriend's soy allergies. They do not have their liquor license yet so sake is on the house. 😊

It’s almost impossible to get a delicious, high-quality 12-piece omakase for $50 in NYC, for that I need to applaud Sushi By M. Fresh ingredients & pleasant flavors aside, the space is way too small and crowded. If you want to sit in the light & watch the chefs make the sushi, avoid the area further away from the counter. You only have a maximum of 1 hour to finish all the pieces and any special you want to order on top of that, so it definitely felt rushed. Chef M prepares all the sushi later in the day, so if you want to try his version of the omakase, be sure to book reservations after 9pm.

Good quality sushi with good service. Was walking by and decided to walk-in alone. It takes less than 30 minute to have the omakase (30min omakase)The decent price considering the fish you get; especially you get 2 fresh Uni.However the portion may not enough for a guy.Rice portion is small, although the rice is cooked right-normal sticky. Thus, Expect to spend more than 50

Come here for the last seating at 10pm -- it's pretty fun. M is a gracious host supported by a fun and earnest staff. Sushi is great with some fusion offerings that I've come to know NY sushi for. It's omakase only, with a standard and premium offering that changes from time to time. There are some standard specials with fun names.

Came here with a group of friends for dinner on a Monday evening. What an unbelievable experience. Fantastic value omakase with high quality, fresh fish. The chefs and servers were super friendly and definitely made the night. Highlights were the uni-wagyu sushi and the toro hand-roll. Highly recommend and will definitely be back.

Awesome sushi and great conversation! A good mix of traditional and creative pieces. It's a bit cramped since they're trying to squeeze as many people in as possible, but you hardly notice it after the first few rounds. The add on pieces are also really unique and you should definitely get as least one. The "Big Mac" was my favorite since I'm a big uni fan. A great time overall!

Got to eat here as my last place in NYC, also got the RSVP last minute.I went with the 12 piece option for $50, and for the price you can't complain. Got a couple extra pieces for free and also added on the big mac ($18) at the end, so around 15 pieces for that price was a steal. Overall the neta was pretty good for the price point, but I do wonder why they pre slice for service. I would just think it'd be better for the fish and the show if they'd slice it during service. They do put very little rice as well. Some of the garnishes may be questionable, but some of them worked out pretty decently. If you need a place to stop by for some omakase that doesn't break the bank, this place is pretty decent.

Wonderful experience! Every course was a delight! The fish was extremely fresh and melted in my mouth. Chef M and team are amazing. I will be back very soon! I highly recommend getting the Big Mac in addition to the 12 courses. It was my favorite!
