Surf's Up Bar And Grill

Nice spot right on beach. Lots of drink choices and food. Had the calamari it was delicious very fresh. Bartender Monica was very friendly and helpful.

Visited 7/15/2019. We were disappointed that there is no outdoor seating. Although the restaurant is beachfront, the windows are high, and the owners missed the mark on window seating. There is a narrow countertop with backless stools where there could have been a wall of high tables for four to accommodate more customers with a view. Food (menu is largely fried seafood) was good, though not outstanding. I will say Surf's Up prepared my fried oysters better than most NC restaurants I have visited. Service was fine, though not exceptional. With the uncomfortable chairs, the plastic utensils and plates, the rapid crisscrossing by the young wait staff, Surf's up seems deliberately designed to turn tables over rather than to offer a relaxing dining experience. We might have gone back for breakfast, but, incredibly, they only serve on weekends in the middle of July.

Great food. Actually I'm impressed with the quality of the fish, calamari and shrimp. The views couldn't be better. Absolutely awesome place to grab a bite. It's not too expensive and I'd say well worth the money!

Really good, fresh food in a medium price range. A little noisy inside. Friendly service.

Just driving by and thought we would stop in for lunch. It's the middle of February, so definitely off season. The food was good, I had the fried grouper sandwich and fries, and the young man that served us was friendly and attentive. The only letdown for me was the plastic utensils. Understand it's their type of operation, just a pet peeve.

Good view and Cassie an excellent server. My BLT was spot on but the tater tots were all crunch and no tater and the side potatoes only tasted good after adding s/p k/m. I traveled a long distance just to walk the pier. They wouldn't let me on it cause they said it was closed till March. Then the owner came out and insulted me and called me names that I cant repeat here. He threatened to beat me up but when we went out into the parking lot he didnt put up much of a fight. I left him bleeding and crying. Completely surreal experience. I hope they suffer. Nothing but a bunch of animals

Hard not to enjoy your meal with this awesome view! The staff is always friendly and the food is great. We have eaten here several times (breakfast, lunch and dinner) and have not had a bad meal yet! FYI, during “in season” months, there is a fee to park.

My husband and I had Mother’s Day lunch out on the deck of the Bogue Inlet Pier. Surf’s Up Grill had moved tables out onto the pier deck. We absolutely loved sitting out there and eating lunch. It was a gorgeous day and we hope that Surf’s Up Grill will keep this outdoor seating arrangement even after they allow in restaurant dining. It was just so refreshing and our food was great too!

Although the Caribbean chicken was tasty. It was all on plastic plates. Had to use plastic knife and fork. Tables had foods in the cracks. Had an ingredient added to my dinner that wasn't on the menu. Way overpriced.

Great food, wonderful service. Fish tacos very good, large portions. Seared scallops phenomenal, great oysters and the homemade chips incredible! Will definitely be visiting again.

Good food. Party of 4 all had seafood and we all enjoyed our meals. Would like to see more seafood options. Extensive menu providing numerous options. Very casual atmosphere. A bit noisy wish the acoustics were better but overall a positive dining experience.

Pretty good veggie burger that they top with chili and slaw along with starter tots. Can not beat the view either and the server were really nice. They said it would be 45 minute wait for 8 people but ended up only being 15 minutes.

One of the best places to eat on the island. If you are visiting EI I highly recommend. There might be a slight wait but trust me it’s worth it!!
