Positively delicious. My favorite restaurant in the Wilmington area. My wife and I try to make a trip to Carolina Beach every summer from North Myrtle Beach to eat here. Food is so tasty that its hard to describe. Recently made our annual trip and had the shrimp and grits. Hands down the best shrimp and grits I've had in 40 years. But my favorite dish is the catfish I had a couple years ago. I start drooling just thinking about how tasty that was. I don't dig the new layout and the server we had this visit had the personality of a wet blanket, BUT the food is just fantastic. We'll be back again next year.

We had a wonderful dinner last night at the Surf House. Easily best restaurant in Carolina Beach! We loved that they proudly display all of their locally sourced ingredients. Food was fresh, beautifully presented & delicious. A bonus for us was their new tapas special T-Th until 7pm during the off season. Great way to try many different items on the menu. Cocktails were yummy too! We will be back!

Surf House was a gem of a find while visiting Carolina Beach. The food was fresh, creative and outstanding with a blend of complex flavors. Equal was the service. The service was attentive without being overbearing. On this visit I ordered shrimp & grits. The executive chef's interpretation of this low country classic was excellent. The dish was a light version which incorporated the flavors of the classic with a grits cake. For a starter pesto clams is a must. While the restaurant was a little noisy, this should not deter you from experiencing the Surf House.

Ordered takeout and our meal blew us away! The catfish sandwich had amazing flavor and the portion was huge. The duck was also delicious and we really enjoyed all the fresh vegetables. You can tell everything is very high quality and prepared well. We will be back for more next time we visit.

We had raw oysters with freshly grated horseradish. For entrees we ordered the duck and the pecan encrusted catfish. Everything was delicious and beautifully presented. Service was impeccable, attentive, and friendly. We also had drinks, the red herring and one whose name escapes me (had vodka and a twist, the color of sunset). Both amazing. You can't go wrong.

Absolutely delicious! The ginger peach tart with tomato basil jam and watermelon sorbet is quite possibly the best twist on a dessert I have ever had!

A simple restaurant trying to be pretentious with cheap silverware. They offer sustainable seafood and local vegetables. Too expensive for my taste. My scallops were quite frankly underdone. They could have used another 30 seconds in the pan. My husband ordered 6 oysters on the half shell and 6 steamed oysters. He got 12 tiny raw oysters. Bill was $168 for 4 without drinks other than 1 beer. Not going back there.

Great wait staff. Super friendly. Some of the best Brussel sprouts I’ve ever had. Shrimp and grits are very flavorful. Scallops are buttery soft.wouldDefinitely go back.

Excellent, fresh seafood creatively cooked without being pretentious! Staff was very helpful and nice to make a cozy dining experience. Also good house cocktails and wine.

My favorites are the fried oysters and the fried shrimp. Tonight I am trying the 6 pack of mini biscuits with bourbon butter.

We go to Surf House every time we're in the area! Their seafood is local and each meal they create is incredibly fresh. Their cocktail menu is also delicious! It's by far the best restaurant on the island!

Fine dining experience that makes you feel like family. We arrived on foot with no reservations on a Saturday at dinner time, we had a two minute wait! The wait staff is prompt, friendly, and keeps everything refreshed. The double burger was outstanding, it is the only hamburger I've ever eaten that I didn't want or need to put ketchup on it was so delicious. This is high praise as I have actually never in my life eaten a burger without ketchup and only viewed the burger as a vessel to delivery my true love, ketchup. Bravo.Every ingredient is locally sourced from small farms, and they are all listed with their respective farms on the menu. Not only do they say it, they mean it. Every single thing. The dinner rolls tasted, felt and looked as if they had been baked to order. Wonderful.The scallops were by far the largest we'd ever eaten and might very well have been caught that same afternoon.
