At SUGARCANE raw bar grill, sushi and globally inspired small plates come from three kitchens – an open fire grill, raw bar and traditional kitchen – overseen by award-winning Chef Partner Timon Balloo. Inviting guests to “kick back, eat well and stay awhile,” we are on a quest to celebrate the simple pleasures in life – eating well and celebrating with friends – with a focus on the “shared experience.” SUGARCANE raw bar grill has garnered local and national recognition and has received numerous awards including “Best New Restaurant” semi-finalist by the James Beard Foundation; “Best Restaurant” by Johnson & Wales; “Restaurant of the Year” by Eater; “Best New Restaurant” by Miami New Times and a three-star review by the Miami Herald. A little disappointed because I expected higher quality given the reviews. Our waitress was awesome and super nice, however some things could have been executed better. The mashed potatoes were more like soup. So much so that we had to ask for a spoon in order to eat them. One bathroom was out of order, which happens. But there isn’t anyone to upkeep the other two. Toilet paper was out and the floor had urine all around the toilet. And for such a nice establishment like this is, having bathrooms that look the way they did today was again, disappointing. I’m going to assume it was an off day because the previous reviews were so good. That’s why I still gave this establishment 3 stars.

Great place for drinks and food. Went with another couple and we all enjoyed our food. The shishito peppers and bacon wrapped dates are amazingg!!
