I received excellent service this Wednesday afternoon from a server who recommended to me the spicy clam & pork tonkatzu ramen for my lunch today. It was at a light to medium spice level, appropriate probably for most diners, even on a warm summerlike day like today. I got stuck in a rut of continuously ordering pork belly and was finally ready to try something different. This really hit the spot and I’ll definitely be coming back!! And thank you for the recommendation.

Awesome food every time I’ve been in. One of the better spots in the city

One of my friends is always posting about going out for ramen, so I finally asked her to take me. Strings is her favorite so we came here. First of all, it's BYOB which is nice, and my friend brought a 6 pack of beer to share. One of my criteria for any restaurant is that they have to have a vegetarian option for me, and luckily Strings has several. I ordered the Kinoko Shoyu ramen and it was delicious. There was a sweetness to it that I finally attributed to the mascarpone cheese. All in all, it was yummy and I would go back in a heartbeat.

I honestly have no idea what I ate... I waited until my husband ordered and pulled the "I'll have exactly what he's having!" Card. Anyways, there was like steak fillets in the bowl and it was very tender and very tasty. The tables are super small, we went there with 5 people and felt very crowded around the table. The service was really great and professional.I went in the dead of summer and still enjoyed it.

I visit this spot a lot since I work close by. I love how the service is always excellent and they keep the spot well kept all the time. Rates are fair and they serve generous portions.

Great ramen spot with homemade noodles, big portions, and quick and attentive service. The Hell Ramen challenge (Level 5) is by far the spiciest dish I've ever tried. Level 3 and below are not bad if you like spicy food. I would highly recommend Strings over the other nearby ramen places

Ramen was delicious, with quick service. This place can get very crowded, and would recommend trying it for lunch to beat some of the crowds! Will be returning to try their level 5 hell ramen next time I am in Chicago!

This place always delivers. They serve great dishes for fair rates, there no long wait even when the place is packed.

As someone who's Japanese and had ramen all my life, this place is OKAY. I give a 4 star bc it's hard to find a good ramen place in Chicago. If you are used to okay ramen, I'd say this place is very good. I recommend Ramen Wasabi if you want authentic delicious ramen. Strings IS 300% better than Furious Spoon though. This place is a bit more expensive and is not as flavourful as other ramen places I know. The noodles are cooked too long and can get mushy. Soup/Broth isn't as rich as I wanted it to be. Cha-shu (braided pork) is tough and tastes okay. I'd not come back but I'd say it's worth going if you live nearby and are craving ramen.

Decent ramen for a decent price with cool vibes. Would want to try the hell challenge sometime.

Absolutely delicious ramen and really quick service. Also, kudos to whoever picks the music!!

The noodles are too firm. Almost like angel hair pasta instead of ramen noodles. The tonkotsu broth isn't creamy enough, a bit too watery. Tastes a lot better after level 1 hell spice at least.

I really enjoyed it. Ramen was delicious, you can add a half or full order of extra noodles. Also, I liked the atmosphere, which has more of a classic ramen shop vibe as opposed to a regular restaurant that serves ramen.
